To get a 7-man (permanent) posse you have to pay $200 (in game money not real cash). I ended up getting in one with some random people and it was pretty sweet running around in a group and stealing trains, clearing out gang hideouts, etc

Possibly one of the best things in the online so far is that you can join a posse and then still pull out your lasso and pull your friends off their horses and drag them behind you

Is there much reward from clearing out gang hideouts other than some XP? Cash wise they don't seem to really get you anything?

Correct, not much cash. But it is pretty damn fun and you can loot the bodies/camp.

Oh absolutely fun. Just trying to be as efficient as I can for cash right now so I can get some better guns.
Though, me and my buddy were playing last night and left a deathmatch game. When it spawned us in, we spawned right next to another posse of 4's camp where they were. We didn't do anything, but I guess they got spooked and started wasting us. We were screwed just 2v4. I was very confused how they were constantly getting 1 hit headshot kills with the varmint rifle, may have to check that out. Even when we tried to run, we couldn't get away so then I broke out the dynamite and made quick work of them and they left.
Not sure if we just didn't hit the threshold or what, but in the first one it gave you an option to respawn away from where you were if some other posse was just wasting you over and over again, but I didn't see that last night. That needs to be added if it is not.

It auto aims on free roam. People were headshotting me without a problem and I was doing the same to others.

I can get headshots, the varmint rifle just has always been shite. It was outperforming my carbine repeater though.

One thing that has been bullshite is that you can start out with different random gear. Saw a guy that basically started with a duster available. Cost me 1 gold bar. The clothing items should all be standard when you start.

When someone kills you just don’t hit respawn and it will spawn you a good bit away from the person that killed you. The main missions are the only thing right now with decent payout. It only takes at most 30 seconds to launch a mission. At times Blackwater can be a death zone and it can be annoying trying to get to a mission location in Blackwater.
