I'm starting to get the hang of PVP, went positive 6/7 matches last night.

I refuse to use the varmint rifle in PVP, but I get killed by it constantly.

You should use it, it is great. Lancaster repeater is really good too. The key to any of the non-team pvp modes is to find a good spot you can kind of manage and not get flanked. If you just run all over the place, people are just going to spawn right behind you and get you in the back. The spawning needs to be tweaked.

This is my go to weapon. Repeater shotty for hit fire close stuff.

2 schofields help too, but not as much as you'd think. I bought a second cattleman and pimped them out, headshots are easier but not enough to put the Lancaster away. I guess I should add the scope back to it, but I feel it loses some stability.

Do stocks add any stability to guns?

Gold Store is LIVE

Best horse in the game will be mine tonight. Don't mind giving them a little more money for it either. This is one of the top 10 greatest games ever made IMO.

I run Lancaster and Varmint, sometime Lancaster and BAR. Then cattleman and sawed off shotty. Covers most scenarios. The varmint is just so easy to get headshots with. You're just done for if you don't get them.

As far as I know, it does not. I just can't stand the scopes on guns for any type of PVP. Not being able to lock on at all is almost impossible against other players as quick as movements are.

I wish I wouldn't, but I know i'll end up buying gold. I just wish that type of stuff was only tied to vanity items, not items that can improve your player. They'll make a killing off of it, so I know why they do it.

What level do you have to be to get the Foxtrotter or the Arabian? I'd assume you won't be able to just buy with gold if you haven't reached the right level.

It is my understanding that for horses they might be level locked.

Not sure, but if I can unlock one with gold, I probably will

Adding a scope adds to range and you don't have to use it. You press down on the D-Pad to activate the scope. I tried it once in a story mission, but it seemed I was getting less headshots because the reticule would sway at long range. Took it off.

Did not know this. I figured it was like the sniper rifles once you put a scope on it and could only use the scope.

Of course instead of adding additional races, showdown stuff, new missions, or fixing any of the various bugs, Rockstar gives a micro transaction update. What a joke

Why were you expecting this to be additional content already? Micro transactions were already known to be part of it and part of the early releases. They've also already fixed a lot of the bugs as well as much of the game economy. Not really sure what your complaint is about.

Because rockstar said there would be more updates this week. I'm glad they fixed some economy stuff but some of it is still out of control. For instance, it still takes 30 gold bars to customize a gun to gold. That's an insane amount of gold. There's still things that need to be fixed. That being said, there's nothing to do content wise after a day of playing unless you want to grind the same things over and over again. Once again, I still play every day and enjoy it; but, it is severely lacking in content at this point. People are angry that they introduced micahtransactions before adding content as they should be...
...Theres nothing to do with all the new found gold I can buy with real money. No amount of free RDO$ or gold is going to change that until they add more things to do.

Because it would probably be a good idea to make your game a bit more enjoyable instead of asking for more money. Obviously, you have to get that store update in before Xmas.

As it stands right now there is nothing to do and there’s still plenty of bugs.

Even if you’re all for micro transactions (which is ridiculous but understandable), the prices are laughable.

So say you want a buffalo coat, right? It costs 80 gold bars. So you can either pay $50 for 150 gold bars...

Or you can get the one time special of 25 bars for $5, 25 bars for $10, and 55 bars for $20.

In other words, you can either pay $35 for your cool virtual coat or you can pay $50 and maybe get a few random small items.

Anyone who pays real money for something that is only cosmetic is stupid in my book, but they have the right and I don't have any ill will toward them. I will only spend money on things that I can actually "feel" in the game.

150 gold bars can get guns and horses while I save my in game cash to level up ability cards.

That is not a reason to think they would be dropping additional game content

Why should they be upset? micro transactions were set to be in the game anyways. That was completely known from the start. You're basically getting upset because they delayed the micro transactions a few weeks from launch, then put in the mechanic that was already known to be coming into the game, because you want some theoretical content that has not been announced with any type of certainty when it will or won't come. If you want to be upset that micro transactions are in the game, that's fine. Being upset because they went live when you already knew they were going to be live is just absurd.

Are you wanting them to just rush drop some type of additional content because you don't think there is enough to do in the game? I mean this is what Red Dead Online is. This was what RDR1 online was. There will be more content, but this is still the beta of the Online. They've dropped what they have announced was going to be dropped with the Beta and given the game emergency bug fixes. There is no reason to be upset that the known micro transaction store went live when it is already known it was going to go live.

So, are you under the assumption this update was a spur of the moment update or part of the general release plan of the Beta? What additional content were you expecting them to drop before the Beta was complete?

Considering they did a pretty big bug fix within like two weeks of things going live, they are doing plenty enough as far as updating fixes to the game. Work still left to be done, but dogging them for not fixing bugs is ludicrous.

As far as nothing to do, i'm not sure what you were expecting. Did you not play RDR1 online? Was there not enough for you to do in that game either? I don't really understand what additional content you were/are expecting that they aren't delivering on.

Okay? So don't pay for it. Problem solved.

Time is time, regardless what you are spending it on. The cosmetic items still have value to people. With the prices as is, are you getting overcharged for the cosmetic items? Absolutely, but if they have value to a person, there is a point that the real life financial cost of it is a better deal than the time it will take them if their time is more scarce.
