however the better overall power of PS4 is what decimated Xbox.
Not how it went down.

At the beginning yes, but the exclusives really set it apart.

XBOX used GDDR3 instead of GDDR5. That killed performance.

But that isn't why it got beat early.
Not denying the power difference

1. The Price point was $100 dollars less.

2. Xbox wanted to force persistent internet. Wouldn't play used games (they later flipped on this).

3. PS3 momentum had already passed the 360 and passed it in total sales in the last year.

You can scratch out #2 and #3 is debatable.

The $100 less was a large player for the initial Christmas season, totally agree.

The better graphics is what surged it passed that. It was the actual major talking point for the first year or two.

You can play 3rd party games on either console, but they look better on PS4. The Sony exclusives really started to roll soon after. They also got exclusive content for Destiny and COD which hurt MSFT more.

Sony fricked up the PS3 vs X360. Sony played PS4 vs. X1 perfectly.

"It is all about the games stupid" is a true statement. MSFT has the winning platform, we will see if they can do anything with it.

Sony did screw up two ways with the PS3. Being horrible for development and costing more. PS3 while more powerful had no shot early on. Worldwide it eventually caught up.

It is all about the games. Microsoft has invested, we shall see how that goes. Sony just has so many in house names now.

PS3 was an epic fail

Xbox One was an epic fail at first because of the morons up top. That's not the case anymore, seems like they've righted the ship

they just need some good exclusives now.

Was that the last PowerPC part in a large scale consumer product?

Apple went Intel shortly after.

Godfall Gameplay trailer

This is a gameplay trailer for the game GodFall, its looks pretty good. Gives me a very God of War feel. Graphics look really solid too.

Mark Cerny sounded exactly like my last commander before I retired. We called him the Velvet Hammer. He had that soft, almost friendly, super-genius way of speaking where he’d destroy you and you wouldn’t even know it.

Anyway, pretty happy with PS5’s specs. As long as it keeps making games look absolutely amazing, I’m good. Near-instant loading and no more long installs/patches is a huge winner.

Not surprised there’s no PS3 compatibility. Hopefully they improve their PSNow to cover this.

Now, I want to see a marked improvement in their shitty PSN store/UI.

Earlier I watched and rewatched several seconds of video, and at the time I was sure that they never moved and that they were fake.

Sony's marketing has been atrocious. The production quality of the video today was laughable.

I understand this was originally planned for a live GDC conference, but a fake audience cut-out? Seriously?

some people claimed that they saw movement, but I zeroed in on them every time they popped up and I never saw the slightest bit of movement

I saw the movement but it was digital obviously.

The thing comes out in 8-9 months.
It will be okay lol.

Reminds me of the people on this board claiming Warzone was doomed because they didn't announce it early. Drops the day after the announcement, in 3 days over 15 million players.
