From what I saw on twitter, they won the World Series, right?

Cubs vs Cards in the playoffs...I don't think it gets much better.

Especially for the Cubs. Easy series sweep.

Bitter nothing. I'd be bitter if I was a Pirates fan. That whole "play in" scenario is kind of dumb, but I guess with the top 3 teams in the Central, it didn't really matter. But Pittsburgh had an amazing season, play one game and have nothing to show for it.
Cubs can take the series easily, depending on which offense shows up for the Cards.

What's Molina's deal? Is he out? This will be no easy series.
I wouldn't mind seeing the playoffs expanded for MLB to six teams. Three division winners, three wildcards, then reseeding after the six teams get their berths. It is a real tragedy that Pittsburgh won 98 games, has the second best record in baseball and has to watch three teams with worse records than theirs play in October.
That's probably an imperfect scenario, though. For that to make more sense, you'd need 32 teams and four divisions in each league. That way you can have first round byes for top two teams, just like the NFL. Baseball likely can't support that many teams...it can hardly support 30.

I haven't been able to keep up with Molina's situation much, but last I read, they were hopeful that he would be available for the playoffs, but I never heard "division series". Hoping he's good to go.
I think the original format was fine. 3 division winners and the wild card. MLB does some weird crap, home field of the world series determined by the all star game for example. So stupid.

This years results were likely just an anomaly
It was gonna suck for the loser of lasts nights game no matter what, but at least they were given the chance as opposed to the old system

Yadier Molina, wearing a specially made plastic splint molded to protect his left thumb from further ligament damage, took the field on Wednesday to participate in a slew of baseball activities. It was the second straight day of work for Molina, who resumed hitting, catching, throwing and blocking pitches on Tuesday after having taken a little more than two weeks off since sustaining the thumb injury while making a swipe tag on Sept. 20.
While the Cardinals don't have to decide until Friday whether Molina is ready for an NLDS roster spot, they remain encouraged by his progress.
"[I'm] much more optimistic today than I was, say, when we were in Atlanta," manager Mike Matheny said of Molina's postseason playing chances. "With what he was able to do [Tuesday] and some of the things he's been able to do with the medical team to stabilize the thumb, he came in yesterday and had a good workout. All those things are pointing in the direction that it's possible."
Molina, who has appeared in more postseason games (86) than anyone else on the Cardinals' roster, will wear some sort of protection when he hits, as well.

I can't wait for Molina to heroically pinch hit for the Cards and the announcers to swoon over one of the most overrated dickpistols in the game.
I really don't like him.

No but I am playing golf this morning at Copper Mill. I'll be more interested in the Cubs game anyway.
