Heroin is a narcotic that is very addictive and the amount of people in a certain age group using it is considered an epidemic.
An epidemic is a widespread occurrence of an infectious disease in a community at a particular time. In this case, heroin would be the disease.
My thread was an attempt at humor about a serious issue. Humor is the quality of being amusing or comic.
