I've been thinking of upping my internet speed. I currently have AT&T Uverse and I'm definitely not satisfied.

I'm paying for 18mbps down and 1.5mbps up.
Im getting 12d/1.5u

I'm thinking of going with cox 25d/5u

Has a lot to do with how far away, the server you are testing on, is located.

I usually get around 60 mb down, but I am on the wifi far away and off a wifi extender

I have Cox and only pay for the around 20 mb down package (not sure exactly, it's like a medium tier), but yet I typically get around 60 mb down with ethernet. I love Cox, they really hooked me up with the internet speeds after I would constantly complain I was never getting what I was paying for.. now I get wayyyy more than I pay for. My package only cost around 40$ a month

Are you sure your modem/router is new? 25 Mb is the lowest tier Cox has. I have the second tier but I have to buy a DOCSIS 3.0 modem in order to take advantage of dem speeds.

If you are on Premier and you have a DOCSIS 3.0 modem, call Cox and ask them to reprovision your modem so you can get the upgraded speeds. If that doesn't work, tell them to check for updated firmware. You will absolutely need to connect to a level 2 technician (or whatever they call the knowledgeable ones); the low-level techs only know how to reprovision modems and tell you how to reboot your PC and router and modem. Took me several phone calls and chat support conversations before I finally decided to demand a real technician. If you email help@cox.com you may actually get someone knowledgeable right off the bat. I had to go through all of that as well.

I have the $67.99 Premier package. When they increased the price last month to $73.99 or whatever it is, I called them to play my "I want to cancel and go to U-Verse" card. The result of that phone call is that I'm now paying $59.19 a month for this:
