So I finally got around to playing Counter Strike: GO... How have I been missing out on this? Such a basic game, but it plays so damn good. I have a few games where I go HAM, but overall I can tell that I am the FNG around the maps.

Yeah, it's awesome. Jump into a comp lobby when you get comfortable. That shite gets intense.

That's all i've played is Comp. The one thing I don't like is how they nickel and dime you for skins for weapons. I'm not going to pay $2.50 for a key to unlock a box that may or may not have a cool looking weapon skin on it. It makes me angry

Yea, but how often do people buy them and how often are you able to pull one?
ETA: And what the hell makes a skin so special? Does it provide you with better accuracy, or incresed firepower? Or is it simply a cosmetic thing?

Just the rarity of the skins. They add things like stattrak and skin condition(factory new, battlescarred and so on). Valve has given the community the power to create a free market and regulate the prices of the skins. It's an incredible smart way for them to make tons of money(people buying unlock keys)without it actually affecting the gameplay. I read that the odds of getting a knife are about 400 to 1. Knives average around $300.

I believe they can. They can also be traded using the steam trade platform.

You can gamble with them on csgolounge.com. That's would I really enjoyed doing. fricking gambling on pro cs:go teams.

Pro teams play in different league ladders everyday and they're all live streamed. You can lay bets on teams using skins. Say NiP is playing NaVi or something. Navi is a 4:1 underdog and you put your skins on Navi, that means you're get your skins back plus skins that are worth 4 times what your were. It's craziness. It's just like sports betting.
