Not sniper rifles because LOL no one does that outside of the military or a competition shooter
Or someone who routinely goes shooting with a Marine Scout Sniper who served in Force Recon during Vietnam. I kinda mentioned that.

I only need precision to deer hunt and for that I have a choice of using my 270 WSM, 7MM Ultra Mag or 300 Ultra Mag. All more than capable of bringing down a elephant much less the whitetail LA has.
I have built a few AR's though and have another receiver to build another one.
Although I want a bullpup next.
My god, you're really convincing me that you've owned more guns than I've ever seen with those kinds of statements. And hunting deer rarely, if ever, qualifies as precision shooting. It's certainly not long-distance precision shooting. But good job, anyways.

I happen to share an office with one. Not a guy I'd ever frick with and one of the most unassuming human beings I've ever met.

I guess you missed the part where I was stating that's the most precision I needed out of a rifle.
I don't claim that I regularly go shooting 1000 yard shots in 30 MPH wind with Carlos Hathcock like you do.

I do find it funny that you are so good at building the best guns on the planet apparently but are scared to touch a plug and play PC build.
Never said anything remotely close to them being the best guns in the world. And I never said I was too scared to learn to build a PC. The fact is I don't have that knowledge and it's not really an interest for me so I'm not concerned about learning it. Other hobbies take up my time, and I have no problem with someone else completing a build for me.

I guess mostly because I am the type of person that thinks if one man can do it then I can too. There's not much out there that an average person can do that I don't think I could learn to do myself.
I know for a fact that if I decided I wanted to learn everything you guys know about computers and builds then I could be doing my own builds too. Again, the interest just isn't there.

To each their own though.
That's kind of my whole point and if everyone thought this way we wouldn't have had pages of shite-talking, insults, and jabs over something as stupid as a computer being built.

VA, no way any of your Porsche's have $30K engines in them.
Only Tom has that luxury.

That I'll agree with.
I gave jabs about not building the computer because honestly it's a very easy thing to do unless you get into the radical stuff which you aren't.

Actually, you're missing the point. Doesn't surprise me. You give me shite for not knowing about computers, but you know nothing else about ME. So when I say that I can work on very complicated things, like the engine of an M5, it's to point out that just because I'm not that knowledgeable when it comes to computer builds that doesn't mean I don't know plenty about other matters. You make fun of me for not building my own computer then think I'm playing the "my dick is bigger than yours" card when I point out that I can work on a $30,000 engine, a highly-tuned, complicated piece of equipment. Man, you are retarded.

They usually are. But this guy is basically family, I've known him forever.

Why do you feel the need to defend yourself with novels of arrogance?

Part of the problem is statements like that. This is a topic that people here are passionate about. To us it is not stupid. Anything perceived as a slight against that passion will be responded to in a harsh manner.
And you do come across as very arrogant and "what you guys do is beneath me"

You really shouldn't make a point about assumptions and then keep making them. I never said anything about cars owned by anyone else here. Specifically referring to Porsches, I'd be interested in knowing what models he owns. I used to surprise plenty of Porsche owners on the highway.

FWIW it's you pointing these sort of things out that make you look even more foolish for not taking an hour or two to put it together.
IDC one way or the other but I'll be damned if I am not going to enjoy your melt over it and egg it on.
Posted on 5/11/14 at 12:32 pm to Tom288
So you claim to build precision custom rifles and BMW engines but you refuse to attempt to snap together 10 pieces inside a box with a few wires? Hmmmmmm.....

I thought you were getting rid of it?
I sold my CJ a month or so ago and already regret it.
I am looking to find another one though. Half the fun for me was rebuilding it.

If you've kept up with current affairs I never referred to it in a negative manner until now, and that's only because I've had to put up with post after post after post of people giving me shite about it and assuming because I don't do computer builds I must either now know shite in general or assume I'm an expert on every topic or I'm afraid to get my hands dirty, as if building a pc is some real hands-on dirty project.

You can probably assume that I like to burn couches.
