Hit me up on Steam sometime later today.

We can finally flash your cards with better VBIOS.

So i just got finished with the GF's build, but the only problem i am having, is the USB 3.0 drives arent recognizing anything. They have power going to them, because when i hook up my Netgear USB wireless receiver to it, it lights up. I unplugged the 3.0 cable and reconnected it, but it is still doing the same thing. Is there something in the BIOS i need to change, so that it can be recognized on the computer.

Thanks as always

Did you install the drivers?

Go to your board's support page and DL and Install the USB 3.0 drivers.

New member here. Have been lurking for about a month now and was happy to see this PC thread on TD. Would be nice to converse PC things and such with more people besides my 2 other friends that are into it lol.

Anyway, I installed the hyper 212 plus cooler and was wondering if anyone knew of a way to control fan speed besides going into the BIOS and changing it manually. And is there a way to set it up to ramp up fan speed as the load increases? Thanks!

You can use the software that came with your motherboard. Most of them offer some sort of package that you can download from their website. I have an Asus motherboard and use AI Suite II to control my cpu fan speeds.

Not all MOBOs have this feature.

What motherboard do you have?

Even if there is no proprietary software to adjust fan settings in Windows, I believe he is asking if the fan can/will ramp up based on temps/load, and the answer is yes. You won't need to access the bios to set a specific speed, but your bios will have some basic fan profile settings that determine how your fan will respond to changes in load and temp--there might be a "quiet mode" and a "performance" mode, where the only difference might be that your fan won't spin up as quickly and/or as high at the sacrifice of temps, but your hyper 212 has a PWM fan, so this is a basic, set-it-and-forget-it feature. I've never encountered a non-OEM motherboard that lacked this feature.

EDIT: and of course, there's always speedfan: LINK

I don't bother with that, though, even when I had air-cooling setups. Just the basic low-level bios setting, set it once then ignored it forever.

What can I do with these 660s?

I may keep one and get a cheap i3 or find a 2500k for cheap and build my steam box finally
