Worth $.01?
Posted on 7/22/13 at 7:33 pm to Mr Gardoki
Definitely the best penny I've ever spent.

SSD Installed.. now to get everything else working.. this has been a long day without my games

I seriously have so many SSDs throughout various rigs.. it would look like a partial deck of cards.
After using one in any game which has frequent loads (MMOs), those SSDs are a blessing. My largest is a 500GB Samsung 840 but really want to look into that 1TB 840 from them. I heard it is crazy quick with server grade parts on the controller and 14nm RAM. It is really like an 845 instead of 840 / 840 PRO series.
EDIT:
SSDs are a must have today. It a performance boost that is hard to quantify in everyday tasking/gaming.
Enjoy, hope you feel it was worth the money.

I agree ssd's are awesome. I would like to see all 5400 rpm drives go away.

Low power laptop HDDs make me throw up. I want to install a damn SSD in my work computer, just cant because IT has us locked down.

My laptop has a 5400rpm, it drives me crazy. Only reason I haven't put an ssd in it is because I don't use it that much. Still drives me crazy

little angry right now.. what is the point of an SSD.. if your internet is running at 1996 speeds!?!?
I'm going to keep bugging my ISP til this is resolved though.. /sigh

P.S: Since I've just spent the last 3 hours doing nothing but updates on internet speeds from 1996.. I'm still not seeing the advantage of an SSD.. FML

Every time you start your computer you will see the benefit of an ssd. It can't help Internet though other than launching the browser. What's wrong with your Internet..

We have worked our way from 1mbps to this.. keep in mind, I pay for 60
Posted on 7/22/13 at 11:29 pm to BaddestAndvari
Where are you located? I pay for 30 with charter and get about 27 ish

Mt. Olive.. before I moved I paid for 30 and got 35 consistently.. as you can tell, this is slightly frustrating to me considering that. They'll be good to me I'm sure.. Charter is notorious for having bad nodes.. but I'm also not the type to sit around scratching my butt while they try to make it all on my end.
I'll be on em til it's resolved, I do way to much online gaming to just "let it slide"
Playing borderlands 2 the other day I have to give up my host duties because of it.

That would piss me off too. I didn't realize you were in my area. And by area I mean 2 hours away.

I like to walk through their hoops, it makes them feel good about themselves, but this is where I draw the line.

Cox's tech support is actually automated. When you have internet troubles, a bot with pre-recorded messages on the phone will check the quality of your connections, walk you through reset instructions, and may even some resets on its end.
And then when that doesn't work, you get to speak to a pot-headish mid-grade tech support person.
