What about Monitors. I'll be building a monster of a PC next gen. Wanna get a nice 2k oled for competitive fps gaming.
someone was telling me something about the difference between 27 vs 32 inch and something I needed to steer clear for on 2k, it was either the 27 or the 32 inch.

If I had to guess, I would say they are conveying one of two things:
1. 32” is too big for 1440p resolution and will look bad (which is false)
2. 32” is physically too large for a twitchy competitive game because you can’t see the entire screen at once (probably true)
But twitchy competitive games aren’t my jam, so I’ll defer to others.

Im pretty sure its 1.
I remember it specifically being 27' because 32' at 1440 was worse. But I just couldnt remember what it was and was curious. Thanks

I don't play FPS in a competitive nature, but I do play them. I have gotten used to my 32" but you do have to slight turn your head. I'm not good, so take it for what its worth. But the damn thing looks glorious at 1440p.

Nice build. Gun to my head I would have guessed something like this would have crept up closer to $3K. However, I think there may be some room to wiggle down a bit at the NVME and the PSU. With that said, we aren't talking budget saving number here, but just a bit of wiggle.

No doubt. With that said, when I do rough draft proof of concept builds, I tend to go higher end on secondary components so that way I don’t have people “well actually…” me over $50

I considered making a specific thread for this, but the DLSS preview by digital foundry is absolutely insane.
What it does to characters faces is going to cause a lot of debate about whether this technology is destroying the artistic intent of the devs, but how it’s manipulating lighting in realtime is just nuts.

I'm torn on it. On the one hand, there are situations in which it obviously improves upon what was there. There are other situations in which it fundamentally changes what's there. I think my issue is that this is clearly Nvidia's way of "improving performance" without actually improving hardware, while potentially trampling on the vision of the people making the games.
If I had to give a kneejerk reaction now, I'm not a fan. But I'll hold my pitchfork until they actually release it.

The biggest aspect to me would be, being able to simulate path traced lighting using AI, then all of a sudden, even low end cards could have the benefit of insanely realistic lighting, and maybe even less die space dedicated to RT cores and more space on the die for raster/AI capabilities.

For FPS games, stick to 24 or 27". I would recommend 27".

AMD brought the 5800X3D back for the 10th anniversary of AM4 but it's $350.At that price I don't see the point. The $200 you'd save on DDR4 RAM is negated but the 5800X3D being $200 more than a 7600X (which is better for gaming).

Looking for a little prebuilt advice. I was very interested in the Steam Machine, but just can't stomach it at that price. My only "PC" currently is a rog ally z1e. I run it docked to a 20" 1080p 120hz monitor currently. I also have a 27" dell 4k monitor that I use for ps5 Games. I also dock the ally to it for remote work, but it's not powerful enough to run most games full screen. I would be good with a great 1080/1440 machine.
Would this be suitable?

That prebuilt company is scummy as frick trying to hide the fact it’s a 4060ti 8GB and not the 16GB card
I’d want a better CPU and more VRAM for that money tbh but with the market the way it is I don’t know if it’s possible.
