I hate ebay, got a steal on the Samsung 4K MiniLED monitor for $500 no one else bid.

Refunds this morning claiming ups dropped the monitor breaking it while packaging it. Highly unlikely. Sold for several hundred below its value so cancelled it 100%.

Bastard. His 100% positive feedback rating is now 85.6%.

FSR3 looking really good!

I'm always a little skeptical when people are shown a small slice that they aren't allowed to interact with, but I genuinely hope AMD has a breakthrough with FSR3.

Just saw this post on the tech board... and I have questions

quote:

Yeah. Supply chain is going to be your biggest hurdle. Any GPUs you can find available will be crazy expensive. Just from a price standpoint, a pre-built system will be the way to go for a decent build.

But you can test your patience and piece together a system and then add a better GPU when the market corrects. Check out CG Director for some good articles and recommendations.

Here are a few things I learned as I was building mine.

- the GPU is not used as much as you think but it does help and some softwares don’t use it as all. You can get by with a “value” GPU but if you ever get serious, you will need to re-evaluate.
- the best processors are the Intel i9 and the AMD Threadrippers. If those are out of your budget, go with an AMD Ryzen 9.
- get as much RAM as you can afford
- storage should be at least a local SSD but NVMe is preferred
- if you are pulling your footage from a NAS, your render times and editing performance will be terrible. Your render times will be hours. Not minutes. Always pull the footage to your local drive and use your NAS as a backup.
- it is also recommended to have 2 local drives, a combo of NVMe and SSD. Store and edit and NVMe and render to SSD. Or at least store on one and render to a different.
- I’m sure there are some decent editor programs for Linux. I’d recommend Davinci Resolve because it is cross-platform so if you do decide to switch, there isn’t a learning curve and it gives you a really powerful editing engine.

Ok, I did the exact same thing you did

I was thisclose to typing out a response a few days ago that would have been... less than flattering? Then I noticed that the last post was a brand new poster doing a crazy thread necro. The post you c/p is from coming up on two years ago :

RUMOR: Horizon Forbidden West coming to PC within a month.

Sony getting quicker with the releases as expected.

LINK

According to our latest information, the Playstation exclusive that will be released on PC is none other than Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition. The game will be available as usual on Steam and Epic Games Store.

Unfortunately, we still haven't managed to recover the game's release date. But based on our data collected in the past, its release should be imminent, which is estimated to be less than a month from today.

I would honestly be surprised both at the short timeline from original release as well as such a short “hype” period, but assuming the port doesn’t suck, it’s a day 1 buy for me.

With that said, I have to think Sony was sorely disappointed by just how badly Elden Ring overshadowed the hype train on HFW. People stopped talking about it almost immediately which kinda sucked, because I was excited about it. But with that said, Sony might have internal numbers that show HFW isn’t driving PS5 sales anymore, so it’s time to turn the money machine back on.

Eta: Just read the article, and while I can read French, did you link a French language article by accident or as a flex?

Huzzah on it including the DLC as a package, though

It was on reddit, apparently that site has a very accurate history and that's why it was on there and voted up so high.

Auto translate always does well for me.

ETA: Looks like GameSpot ran with it now as well Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition Reportedly Coming to PC Alongside PS5

FO76 now higher rated than Starfield on Steam. What a flop.

It’s at the same rating New Vegas was when it released, and it hit 10m players a few days ago. I haven’t played it, so I have no opinion on the game itself, but it’s certainly not a flop by any objective measure. Now, subjectively against the hype? Maybe from a review perspective, but that strains the term, in my opinion.

Yeah hype and budget with reviews and overall reception I would say def a flop. But I don't like Bethesda games anyways so no surprise I was bored fast and uninstalled. I didn't make it 2 hours on FO4 either.

Hell even just on twitch it has no viewers and is so far down the list.

I’ll agree that it’s been underwhelming and failed to live up to the hype, but a game that has sold over 10M copies and is still getting 150k concurrent player peaks a day just is not, historically, considered a flop.

As they said in the other thread it didn't sell 10M copies that's including game pass.

#Highsensitivitymasterrace

What’s everyone running for cpu/gpus these days?

Probably doing a new build and trying to decide between staying am4 and snagging a 5800x3D or doing like a 7700x build.

GPUs as a whole seem like a fricking mess right now but thinking about giving AMD a try for the first one in a decade. 7800 XT is interesting and microcenter has 7900 XTs for $750.

I play at 1440p FWIW.
