There are no blank pins on the board on AM5. Return it immediately.

I'm having some kind of luck with this build.

Out of curiosity, who did you buy the motherboard from?
Posted on 8/3/23 at 10:33 pm to Joshjrn
Open box - excellent.
Funny thing it has a sticker that it was inspected and good to go.
Impossible to miss that so clearly that's BS.

Sadly even Microcenter does shite like that. 100% unacceptable to miss broken/bent pins.

Whoever does the returns at Best buy probably has no idea what they're even looking at, geek squad included.
I feel like microcenter employees should know

Jesus
Lot of issues with that lately, with Newegg being of particular note.

Yeah I don't think any inspect and just slap approval on it. Most of the time at least.

I wish PCPP would exclude Newegg since the mobo fiasco with Gamer Nexus.

Absolutely not. PCPP does it's job. It's up to the buyer to do their own research

Super early, utterly unsubstantiated rumor at this point, but if true, would be catastrophic for the enthusiast PC gaming market over the next few years: Rumors suggest AMD might have canceled its Navi 41/42 high-end RDNA3 GPUs

New mobo looks good. Was actually sealed unlike the other one.
Plan to build tonight.

Not PC related but I ordered bamboo garden stakes for $30 from Amazon and I received a $550 Doona car seat stroller.

Booted up first try. Got done at 2am.
eta: had the latest f8A bios with the big ram update on a thumb drive, quick bios update and chipset update, EXPO, and 30-38-38 at 6000MHz stable right from the gate. Timed that right.

Well I was tinkering with ram and now it won't post. Hit reset cmos button a bunch of times and nothing.
Removed battery now we'll see if that resets it.

Reminder that AM5 has extremely long RAM training periods on first boot. I would give it a solid 10m before giving up on the boot cycle, unless you have indicator lights on your motherboard that's telling a different story.

Yeah I knew about the long boot that took maybe 5 last night on very first boot.
I didn't think manual voltage and timings would reset that another 5-10 min though. Expo was coming in at 4800MHz.
