Wouldn’t you not really see a difference in FPS at 4K with that 9900k vs anything new?

For those that were trying to get a 3070 and failed, it might still be worth getting a 2080ti from EVGA’s b-stock. They have midweek sales from people that turned in their step-up cards and the last sale price was $699.

For reference, the most expensive 3070 was a Gigabyte model at $669 and the Asus ROG STRIX at $639. The extra RAM could be worth it, and the YouTube benchmarks have the 2080ti higher in 4K resolutions. Even with ray tracing enabled.

ETA: nvidia technically didn’t lie about the 3070 being faster, but they were comparing FE vs FE. But a factory OC’d 2080ti is still faster than a 3070 FE.

But then you gotta third party vs third party. 2080 ti might as well get a 3080 at 699 in Jan.

I honestly don’t think we’ll see anymore 30 series cards. If we do, we’ll be lucky. Why even buy one when they usually release during the summer. We’re not even gonna get a full cycle out of this generation anyway, are we? Nvidia or AMD?

I wouldn't mind a new card, but my 2070 is only 2 years old (in January 2021). Not even sure my CPU could work with the new GPUs - i5-9600K.

A 9600k would be fine for 1080p/1440p still I think.

Yep yep. 6800XT with a good OC looks to nearly match stock 6900XT performance which puts it right up there with a 3090 for $649. Can't beat that.

Gonna grab the liquid cooled Asus one I posted above if I can get it, I'll all nighter if I have to.

Have you tried bird bot? I ended up scooping up a TV from a Walmart pre-black Friday deal with it. Threw up a VM just to run it.

Only works for Wally world and best buy tho

Have we gotten 3P benchmarks yet? Don’t think AMD would lie, but I’d love to see a similar graph from 3P testing.

Eta: seems like the way to go on a new build is full AMD though. I might go nuts and get the 6900XT.

Godfall 4K RX6000 demo

DX12 Ultimate, DXR1.1 ray tracing, variable rate shading among other things shown in the video.

Godfall at 4K ultra uses 12GB VRAM, RIP 3080 users already.

Leaked benchmarking results show AMD RX 6800 with a huge lead over the Nvidia RTX 3070

quote:

The CPU (computer processing unit) seen in the tests is an AMD Ryzen 5 3500X, and the card manages to post 16,775 points in the Graphics test. If we take the results for the RTX 3070 Founders Edition from sites like Guru3D and HotHardware (13,622 and 12,864, respectively), this means the Radeon RX 6800 could outperform the RTX 3070 by up to a whopping 23%.
