but i couldn't pass up a free $300. I have a bunch more cards in the pot via waitlists and discord, anything I can't scalp at my price will be sold here at cost + shipping
I have
1 3090 on the way
1 3070 (sold)
3 3070s waitlisted (got in before EVGA crashed this morning)
1 3080 prebuilt coming in 2 weeks
1 3080 Strix preordered at CDW
multiple 3080 waitlisted at EVGA
all I really want is the Strix tbh

What CPU setup are you rocking?

I wouldn't mind a new card, but my 2070 is only 2 years old (in January 2021). Not even sure my CPU could work with the new GPUs - i5-9600K.

It would work fine, but ya 6 cores is starting to get long in the tooth. That's only 6 threads too.
I've got an 8700K still and it's about time to upgrade and that has 12 threads.
Trying to decide between 5800X and 5900X.

Wouldn’t you not really see a difference in FPS at 4K with that 9900k vs anything new?

no clue, haven't looked that far into it yet

For those that were trying to get a 3070 and failed, it might still be worth getting a 2080ti from EVGA’s b-stock. They have midweek sales from people that turned in their step-up cards and the last sale price was $699.
For reference, the most expensive 3070 was a Gigabyte model at $669 and the Asus ROG STRIX at $639. The extra RAM could be worth it, and the YouTube benchmarks have the 2080ti higher in 4K resolutions. Even with ray tracing enabled.
ETA: nvidia technically didn’t lie about the 3070 being faster, but they were comparing FE vs FE. But a factory OC’d 2080ti is still faster than a 3070 FE.

But then you gotta third party vs third party. 2080 ti might as well get a 3080 at 699 in Jan.

I honestly don’t think we’ll see anymore 30 series cards. If we do, we’ll be lucky. Why even buy one when they usually release during the summer. We’re not even gonna get a full cycle out of this generation anyway, are we? Nvidia or AMD?

ROG Strix 6800XT LC, this may be the one.

A 9600k would be fine for 1080p/1440p still I think.

Got one of these for 4K?

Yep yep. 6800XT with a good OC looks to nearly match stock 6900XT performance which puts it right up there with a 3090 for $649. Can't beat that.
Gonna grab the liquid cooled Asus one I posted above if I can get it, I'll all nighter if I have to.

Have you tried bird bot? I ended up scooping up a TV from a Walmart pre-black Friday deal with it. Threw up a VM just to run it.
Only works for Wally world and best buy tho
