I was thinking about the term spun up in reference to VMs the other day.
I wonder if kids 10yrs from now will understand the origin of it's meaning.
Edt: Because spinning platters might not be around in any form.

I think I'm going to grab the Samsung QHD/240 for now.
No HDMI 2.1 on the LG 4K so the only way you can get 4K 10 bit 144 is with DSC and on PS5 you won't be able to do above 4K/60. No local dimming kind of sucks as well, although for the price point it's a fantastic value.
Who knows I'll just wait for reviews. Can't make up my mind.

So ray tracing is still a mess on PC, I'm hopeful that the next gen consoles getting RT will help the development of it. It should.

Going to be interesting to see what games are touting RT in the PS5 and at what resolution/RR.
1440p/60 probably with Ray tracing. Hopefully not 30 FPS. Otherwise 1080/60/RT would be lame.
But we know next to nothing about how RT will work from AMD or on the console side.

It is still difficult to push a consistent 60frames at 2160 with all the eye candy turned up. With my 2080Ti under water I still struggle to stay around 70fps at times.
Keep me updated on the monitor hunt. I'm also in the market, and want a new set when Ampere launches.

Still leaning the LG 4K just wish it wasn't 27". Prefer 32" for 4K but it'll be fine.

I've got a big fan question. I'm getting a new 360mm liquid cooler, haven't decided the brand yet. I plan on running a push/pull configuration at some point.
One burning questing I have that I can't seem to find, other than a bunch of contradicting info on the internet, is which fans should be on which side of the radiator.
What I really want to do is have RGB fans facing the inside of my case with the stock fans facing the outside of the case. Odds are the RGB fans will be a lower RPM and CFM than the stock cooler fans. I do however want to replace the stock fans with noctua fans down the line.
My question is should the lower RPM and CFM fans be pulling or pushing air? I know SP fans are best for pushing air through the radiator and AF fans are best for pulling. IDK if air should be pulled in faster than it is being pushed out or vice versa.
Is there a lot of math involved in this or is it something simple that I'm over thinking? Any advice would be appreciated lol.

Forgot all about the game. I've been hooked on FO76 after the Early Access phase ended with the Wastelanders and debut on Steam.
Since the announcement trailer for Squadrons my mood is moving away from "Hype" towards "Uncertain with slight brace for disappointment".

AMD VP confirms Zen 3 is launching this year. First official acknowledgment of that from the company.
Rumor is they are dropping with big Navi in November. Would love a bundle of some kind with a discount, 4800X + 5900XT GPU or something like that. Would be cool.

AMD stock got pretty happy today after the announcements of 4000g series yesterday. Which is a bit odd considering it's OEM only right now, but hey, I guess people are looking for anything to boost a stock way up these days.

Yeah and Big Navi is really starting to sound quite nice. The 7nm TSMC node advantage + ray tracing tech the same as the upcoming consoles is quite nice if performance is truly where they are saying. Mindshare will be harder than Intel on the CPU side though no matter what here, whole different level.
Price it right and you've got a winner.

So... I put off my SFF build due to Carona, but now I finally found the SFF case I've been looking for for months.
I snagged a Dr. Zaber Sentry 2.0 case. The company in Poland announced another limited batch production run of 150 units, and I managed to buy one before they ran out

Its being shipped from Poland, and they said it would take about 3 weeks to ship.
So now... I'm looking for the rest of my components. I have my case picked out, and I already got my memory from Amazon in a sale. This is my parts list so far:
Any thoughts/comments? My biggest decision at this point is:
1) Ryzen 3600 or 3700x? I've researched this case a ton and people have managed to get good thermals with both if you tune the voltage/frequency with the Noctua L9i/Cryorig C7. I have heard the C7 fancurve is loud as frick in this case in default state though.
2) Wait for new AMD/Nvidia cards or not? I have an old AMD R9 380 to tie me over if I choose to go that route, but Im not sure if that will even fit in this case to be honest. The EVGA card will fit for sure, its a true 2-slot card with a backplated (41 mm), and the case manufacturer confirmed it as well.

I'd wait and get the best mobo that will be good and ready for Zen 3 this fall, and get your GPU then too.
Either way I'd wait on GPU, $539 for a 2070 Super seems ridiculous.

My biggest issue right now is motherboard availability and SFX Power Supply availability.
For whatever reason, SFF pcs have exploded lately, and ITX motherboards and SFX power supplies seem to stay in stock for a few minutes, and then are sold out again.
