Updated parts list. Motherboard, cpu, and ram sticks already in. Just now ordered the case, gpu, and PSU. gonna hold off a bit on the SSD since I still have the old HDD.

I just got really sad. I misread my order email for the case, gpu, and PSU that it is expected to arrive today.
Turns out it’s shipping out today. I was looking forward to taking a short day tomorrow and start building it lol.

Bought the Nighthawk AX8 and it was junk. Probably defective LAN speed was about 3Mbps and froze and lagged like crazy. Was odd. Plug back in old one and 400Mbps immediately.
Wifi 6 was still one bar out in my yard by the pool, same as previous wifi 5.
Sent back.

Did you try changing cables? It is crazy how many times it is just a bad cable. But since it worked with the old one, probably not the case.
What client device do you have that can get Wifi 6? I thought Wifi 6 would be worse at distance than 5GHz?

Note 10+ was the first wifi 6 phone. Now every new phone has it from iPhone 11 to S20's etc. iPad Pro, the new Mac Air all have it, probably easier to say any new mainstream device has it.

Wifi 6 is both bands, the speed was a tad higher at 1 bar versus wifi 5 but meh. The OFDM is supposed to provide wider coverage with more stability and speed thanks to the 160 MHz channel and the significantly wider QAM for more data through a stronger signal.
I think it's mostly because these routers are still the first batch of Wifi 6 and they are just mostly not very good. 2020 is supposed to have a bunch of new ones/2nd gens.

I know nothing about it, same with 5G stuff. I don't care so ignore every article about it.
Edt: What do you have on Wifi besides phones? Even my laptops are hardwired when at a desk. I think we have 4 devices if you don't count the nest stuff and a few raspi projects on Wifi. I'm weird about making sure everything is hardwired.

I would like a 10gig switch, just because my Steam library is on my NAS. You get huge performance benefits in some games, mostly open world, which are always loading in assets.
