The new GPUs will still struggle to hit that with everything turned up.

Edt: idt he was asking about display tech but processing power.

Edt2: another note, this is the first gen I haven't ran SLi (usually TITANS) since Fermi (5xx 2011). Soo I can't speak to the current support with SLi drivers but it was dropping off relative to previous years. However, we also didn't need SLi/Cfx to max out titles like previous years. Processing power sort of caught up with display tech, but going into this year that pendulum might be swinging back in the other direction.

I wouldn’t spend $1000 to get the same experience as a console 10 years ago. Y’all need to get with the times and stop using 60fps as a bench. 144hz at 1080p can be done with a tin can nowadays.
I simply said 60 fps was the min I would target if building. And consoles were not hitting 1080p/60fps 10 years ago.

If anyone is high as frick...

Xbox one came out 7 years ago and mine gets 60 so yeah

144 should be the min for building. Hell the new consoles are going to reach for 120.

AMD and Nvidia's offerings for this year will be out months beforehand.

You think they can jump up like 70-80 FPS? I can see esports style gaming getting up there.

It does not get 60 fps on every game. Let's cut the crap.

It’s an almost 10 year old console. It’s 2020 man, PCs get way better than that now. All I was saying is don’t target 60 anymore especially at $1000. $400-500 build can get 60 easily with likely getting over 100.

Why are you struggling so much with comprehension?

Why aren’t you? STOP BENCHMARKING WITH 60/1080p

Did you get that?

You clearly didn't understand what I said. So I'll repeat yet again.

For me, I would not target anything under 60 fps.

For a grand, he could easily build a 1080p/60fps system.

It's that simple. I never once said that's what he should aim for. Simply said it is easily doable.

Comprende?

I hope this doesn't confuse anyone but, resolution alone doesn't reflect effort from processing power alone.

In 2012 we all games @ 1440. A lot of 1440/90fps monitors too. We thought 4K/120 would be standard 2yrs later, well here we are..

As graphics engines become more complex, it takes more effort. Resolution alone isn't a great measuring stick.

How this convo even got to that point was goofy, and noobish.

Popping in for a random question.

I'm running a XFX Radeon R9 290 4 GB Double Dissipation Video Card.

What is a solid yet, not overly expensive upgrade from there? I am running thing relatively fine. Little stutter on some games.

Computer only has 8gb Ram, but planning on upping to at least double
