I believe the only difference in g skill is the form factors.

Form Factor only applies to the RAM module itself.

Both RAM modules are DIMM or DIMM VLP Form Factors with a DDR4 SDRAM interface. The modules have to meet a certain spec within a form factor for interface and clearance regulations. If they would be of a different form factor then we would have a problem.

But yeah, the heat stinks are different heights. It is whatever when it comes to the heatsink sizes.

hehe =)

How much do y'all think a 2080 Ti without the ray tracing crap would cost?

Its not that simple.

The cost is insane for multiple reasons but the main is Die Size. Within a fab you have machines that all handle the same size wafers, you only get so many Die/Chips cut from a given wafer.

So even if you cut the Tensor Cores and RT Cores you still end up with a huge chip. The ARCH for all those SMUs to be enabled probably depends on having some of those at less partially enabled. Disabling/cutting one of those units might partially disable some SMUs.

If you don't windows just puts a little "Windows is not activated" watermark in the bottom right corner. Oh the horror!!!!

Same here.
I just remember the XP days when you'd have to activate within 30 days.

hey guys, if i end up skipping out on the zen2 ryzen , what would i gain from buying a ryzen 7 2700 over a ryzen 5 2600x? it's $10 more for the ryzen 7 right now on amazon? this is strictly a hypothetical btw.

2600x is a better gaming CPU and 2700 is better workstation IIRC. Though gaming is likely 10% or less from 2700

I'd really wait till 3600 as I think they were beating my 8700k

Like hu said, just wait a few more days for the 3600 or 3600X. If you still decide to skip then the 2600X should be even cheaper than it is now.
