Not sure how I'm gonna jump in but I consulted with my friends and this thread when I built my first PC. I made the switch from console and now I'm pissed that I never got into PC gaming from the get-go. Just want to say thanks.
I just posted my steam name in the other thread (CoyGunner42). I will say the switch from a controller to a keyboard is not as easy as I thought and it pisses me off that I'm not as fluid in games that I played on xbox.

Jump in to some heavy kb/m games like fortnite, cs:go, etc to really learn kb/m quickly.
Please dont get into the habit of using the mouse wheel to cycle between weapons. It's a terrible habit and it's a pain in the arse to move (I went through this)

Oops I started that wheel habit already in R6. What would you suggest putting for the scroll instead?

Leave it be but learn to use the numbers instead

I would think it is easier since we use computers daily. We don't use controllers for anything else in daily life.
I play Switch and PS a lot and still look retarded using a controller. KB/M just feels so natural. Esp since we interact with that interface so often.

If it's just 2 weapons, I use E and R. In fortnite, I use ERCXZ. The numbers are just too weird for me to use. I only use the 4 for traps.
For sea of thieves, I just use the scroll wheel as it's a low stress game.
Abilities I usually use the M4 and M5.
I have mouse wheel button down for reload.

Nope, completely different mindset. You have to overcome reflexes and habits from controller. You are going from a unified device for all input to a split device that disconnects movement kb/m.
I play with my keyboard at 45° and it feels completely different than typing.
Also my dpi for gaming is 400 while my work is 1600.
I switched from controller in August of 2018.

Mines at 800 all the time and I play with crazy low in game sens, like really low
My keyboard probably has a 20 degree tilt for gaming

We all do.
You do understand I'm saying going from KB/M to controller might be harder? Based on the fact we never touch controllers in daily life but use mice and keyboards.
All I'm saying. Not saying it isn't a problem.

For me it all depends on the game and engine. I also stay low but not that low.

Wow, what kind of games do you play? I'm always at 1000 and I thought that was considered low nowadays.

Oh I see. I thought you meant the other way as it would be easier to go to KB/M as we use the KB/M everyday.

Shooters. FPS and Fortnite.
You must be a wrist player. If you used your arm instead, you couldn't handle 1000 dpi most likely.

When I tilt my keyboard, I have about 1.5 ft of mouse space.
Love my KB/M btw, it's Anne pro 2 with ducky double shot pbt keycaps and the finalmouse air 58.

Haha it's 50" by 24". I just have them close together.

Yes that is what I'm saying.
When do I ever pick up a controller? We don't in life.
I would think going KB/M would be easier than going to controller.

I think my desk is like 65x32. I like them deep

Can't wait to build a new desk. Not until a new house. Hopefully we start this year.

Okay, let this be known that I hate tVerge and Vox Media. However, I do love Nilay Patel and was a big Joshua Topuslky fan until he went socialist.
Never the less it is a decent article on the 1st ever RasPi store. I really think the fun we have with computers becomes even better when you can bring it to life in the real world. I'm really having with SBCs, not just Pi SBCs.

Raspberry Pi — makers of everyone’s favorite miniature computers — has opened its first physical retail store today in Cambridge, UK, via VentureBeat. Previously, if you wanted to buy a Raspberry Pi, you probably got it online from Amazon or an authorized Pi reseller, like Adafruit, but physical stores in which to buy them remained few and far between.

I've been wanting to do something with Pi but have never found anything to do.
