I checked the mobo specs and it looks like 2666 is what it will support. LINK Ordered that just now.

Definitely the sweet spot. I've got some Corsair Vengeance LPX 2 x 8GB. I think anything above 3000 is overkill.

Yeah, where did this myth come from that there's a magic ratio of frequency to cas latency? Need to look at the numbers as one thing, nanoseconds.

It was worth it for me since the price difference was only $20 and I'm a cable Nazi. I think Newegg has the 960 Evo for $100 with free shipping.
