After my router died I got a new one and decided to upgrade my modem too, while activating them with Cox I upgraded my internet service which doubled my speed for $5 more for six months and then $14 after that.

That is a pretty nice upgrade for just 5 bucks.

Gigablast is in the area, but even when it's available I am not sure if there is really a need for it.

I understand. Currently have e 150/10 and could upgrade to 300/10 starting back in May. But have really no use for it. It's low ping you want anyway. With ATT we got 1-2ms to the server but it was fiber up to my home. Now I'm with a local provider RTC which get 10ms but it's coxial to the home. Reason we went with them was for bandwidth. ATT topped out at 25/5 when the new provider does 150/10.
Plus I already pay for internet at 2 locations. Really trying to keep all utilities low. (Internet/power/water)

I bought it in a wholesale auction with a bunch of other stuff. After selling a few things off that's the price I'm at. I actually sold off a few more things today so I've really only payed ~$100

My new PC. It runs very well! Haven't overclocked CPU or GPU yet, had DOOM playing at 70s fps @ 2k high settings. Looking to upgrade to new AMD Vega once gaming card released, 4k monitor, bigger case w/window to show off hardware and bigger CPU cooler.
Got it for way less than listed watching newegg/slickdeals daily and bro works @ intel. You guys have any suggestions or critiques? I'll upload pics later when I get home.

Why would you purchase a HDD at this point? (Unless for NAS)

im still curious about that 480 tho

No need for a HDD, have plenty of storage and will upgrade as needed when I use this work. Right now it's only games.
In regards to the 480, I bought all these pieces over time and I got that video card in mid April for $189.00 with a free copy of Doom. Started building this in in March and got phenomenal deals on all pieces of equipment.
Anti virus was free. Just tossed it on there, also got a gaming keyboard and gaming mouse but didn't load on there.
