What's a good OC for 980s? I'm so used to OCing AMD cards, so I don't know good my PC is or how much voltage I can throw at my cards

I maxed out the voltage on my 980s before I even got water cooling. The reference cards were pretty restricted in terms of power draw. Even modded bios to increase volts would be held back by hardware induced power limits.

Yeah vBIOS can help you out. Loading a custom vBIOS is the first I do for every card.
What is your limit? 1.28?

Don't even remember. Possibly 1.3 once I got a custom vbios. Problem is at that voltage the hard power limits would cause it to downclock slightly under load, until I did a hard mod to short two of the resistors.

Did you have insane coil whine after?

You last logged into Steam 102days ago? Wow.
I feel you though. I've been playing nothing but PS4 and Nintendo games. Only game I play on my computer is Hearthstone.

Well, that's not representative of my gaming time lately. I've been playing Titanfall 2 through Origin.

This is what I'm generally considering for my upgrade:
PCPartPicker part list: LINK
CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($345.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: MSI Z270 GAMING M5 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($184.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Samsung 960 PRO 512GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($329.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Crucial MX300 1.1TB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($271.52 @ Amazon)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB Founder Edition Video Card (2-Way SLI) ($799.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB Founder Edition Video Card (2-Way SLI) ($799.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $2732.47
Not going to pay $799 a piece for the cards, though, if I even go nvidia.
I'm going to move my current components into another case to make a torrent/plex box, and just have SSDs in my main computer.

So what's the word on AOC monitors?
Going to grab their new one coming up in May I think, Curved 31.5" VA Panel 1440p 144Hz Freesync. Everything I want. Oh and can't forget the RGB!1

That is awesome.
But do wonder y not 2x1080Tis for the same price? Then again, not running 4K right? But you are running a hella large amount of pixels. Understand the single card thing. That extra heat from a second card I could do without.
Edt: Did you also have to pay like $50 shipping and handling + a founders fee?
My TITANS XP not Xp cost like $1350 each after they got done with silly mark ups. Only place to order back in October was nVidia. Then after blocks and back plate it was like a $3000 upgrade.
I'm a little more pissed off than when the 780 Tis topped the OG TITANS. That was at less over 6months later and had VRAM cut in half. This one is getting to me. Maybe because i'm tired of swallowing this BS from nVidia, but then again its fine. Price you pay as an early adopter. They have done this shtt since the 7800 cards.

Im soo fckking confused. Why 1440? This isn't 2012.. we are in 2017.
Like that it is VA. Does it do HDR?

You have a 4K monitor?
Not yet, but that'll certainly be part of it. Just don't know what I'll get yet.

I'm not going to 4K until there are complete monitors out there. 100Hz minimum with HDR, IPS/VA, curved.
I already had a high end LG 4K 60Hz and it was mediocre despite being at the time the best 4K monitor on the market. And I will not go back to 60Hz ever after being at 144Hz, so if it isn't 100Hz+ out of the box I'm not touching it.
That just isn't going to happen until 2018 at any kind of decent price, maybe a couple at best this fall for extremely inflated prices.
