nVidia might have fricked themselves if the 490 is introduced, they could have sold a shite ton of 1080 and 1070 cards in the last two weeks but the non FE cards still aren't on the market.

She said full 400 series, then just showed the 470 and 460 so maybe later the 490?

I thought she said "I'm excited to show off the full 400 series line" so I'm holding out hope for the 490 towards the end.

Still could be, but I'm not holding out much hope. If Nvidia didn't disable free-sync support, I would be fighting the urge to splurge on a 1080 despite the shite prices/avail.

Good thing the 290x still holds up @1440P with free-sync.

There are some "leaked" benchmarks showing the 480 doing very well @1400 mhz, however. Probably fake tho. Need some real benchies.

It's not so much disabling it as it is choosing not to develop and implement an Adaptive-Sync solution into their drivers. It still has to be implemented on the software side. Adaptive-Sync is the DisplayPort open feature, whereas Freesync is AMD's branded implementation.

I missed most of the E3 showings today. Any high-end showings from AMD?

Fair enough. I'm still red-assed wanting a gpu upgrade on free-sync. They're(Nvidia) are still being anal about it.

Nothing high-end. They introduced the 470 and 460, but didn't say anything about price/performance.

They showed off the full line of Polaris cards. The 490 isnt Polaris.

Should I start a twitch channel and become a streamer? How hard is it to make good money? Also how much would it cost to get the necessary equipment to do streaming?

Depends on if you are streaming AND recording, or just recording offline and posting to youtube later.

Also depends on how demanding the game is and the resolution you are recording at, along with the FPS desired.

I have around a $1000 PC and record RPG's offline and post to youtube. I have an AMD FX 8300 overclocked to 4.5 ghz and it does the job fine when paired with a decent GPU.

But if you want to stream and record at the same time you will probably need something stronger. Thats just speaking from my experience.

I also dont necessarily record the most demanding games or multiplayer so keep that in mind.

In short, you need a strong PC with a powerful processor.

In terms of making money, I don't have monetization enabled on my videos so I cant help you there. I do it cuz its fun. If I all of a sudden got a bunch of viewership I might change my mind but not at the moment.

No

nVidia is in scary good shape with bringing GP104,102 and 100 to market. The rumor has been strong since 2015 with engineering samples being leaked. GP102-400 and 325 are starting production sometime this summer we know that for certain based on leaked material orders out of TSMC.

Once again AMD can not deliver a product on time, leaving us to higher retail prices from Intel and nVidia.

Same ole tune..

True.

I hate it. I saw the price gouging on the 1080 and 1070 recently and my jaw dropped.

That was gonna happen even if AMD had a 490 on the market. Certain % of folks who are Nvidia loyal regardless, and clearly Nvidia released before production numbers were anything close to healthy.
