Came out today. Remake (really a high-care remaster) of the excellent 2004 RPG. Anyone else checking this out?

I am usually into anything Mario, but Paper Mario has always been one that I haven't tried because the back and forth aspect of it seems tedious. However, it seems like this is a revered game. Maybe I will try a demo to find out.

It's definitely a slower game. I can't really speak to any of the ones they've made after the first one or TTYD, they changed the formula and made those less of an RPG. But I do love this one, it's a classic. Just plays a little slower and it's more about the vibes and fun.

TTYD is probably my favorite game of all time. Love everything about it, and they did a great job with the remake, minus a few performance mishaps. Really hope this leads to Nintendo ressurecting the Mario & Luigi games since AlphaDream went out of business.

It's mostly in the writing and the charming visual design.

They are very simplistic RPGs.

I am not the biggest fan of the battle system and the need to constantly time button presses.

The series kind of goes off the rails after the first two games in the series (N64 and Thousand Year Door) though

This is the main reason I loved Sea of Stars but I can see that getting old for some.

First off this is an awesome game and possibly the best Paper Mario game ever made

But it is wrong for Nintendo to charge $60 for a port of a GameCube game. TTYD didn’t even cost $60 when it came out on GameCube. I get that a surplus of Nintendo fanboys will buy this regardless, but shame on Nintendo for rehashing old titles (see also Link’s Awakening) instead of develop new badass games
