Loving the gameplay. Defense is hard as shite...I've pretty much moved to playing only offense or playing the moments.

Love, love, love how much they overhauled recruiting. It's so in depth and challenging now.

Looking forward to getting roster updates. Mississippi State has a few guys that are not real. Also our Gridiron Club under the North EZ stands is completely empty. Minor gripes.

Played and simmed through 1 season as OC at State. Finished 8-4 (5-3) and that was somehow not good enough to go to a bowl. I'm guessing it's because the SEC was absolutely stacked and 5-3 put me at like 12th overall.

Florida somehow went 6-2 in conference but lost all the OOC games but still made the playoff and finished 7-7.

I’m playing full games on heisman.

It really can’t be overstated how bad the pass protection is, and I’m using LSU. The two all-American tackles are turnstiles.

Rushing offense is great, especially since I customized the playbook to add some under center formations.

Rushing defense is very balanced. I get a good mix of stuffing them, 4-5 yard gains, and big plays where I didn’t fill the hole in time.

Passing defense is non-existent, which is r allistic for LSU at this point I guess. I’m all in on upgrading the defense in recruiting.

I'm hoping this gets cleaned up. There is A LOT of madden in the oline AI right now

Yea pass D seems atrocious across the board, unless it is the CPU playing defense lol.

Can't ever seem to get a pass rush at all and there is always someone running completely wide open. The zone coverage I think has to have a bug in it right now or something because i've noticed multiple issues with the coverage when an audible happens or player motion.

I ran through all American like a hot knife through butter, going to try out heisman mode today and see how brutal it is

NCAA 14 was similar. I could crush all American but once you turned it into heisman mode, it would be a comedy of errors unless you took every play super seriously and didn’t take any risks down field

I did hit a pretty sweet back shoulder throw with the new passing mechanics which had me riding a high for a while didn’t get as much time in yesterday as I wanted, need to do some more playbook diving. Think I’m going to try out the Wake Forrest Slow Mesh on my next game

Are you using the revamped controls?

Yeah I wanted to give it a shot before switching to classic. Doesn’t seem all that bad but still figuring it out

RPO bubbles are deadly in general, but I’ve also thrown a handful of pick 6s from it if you don’t see the defense or he reacts right to it

Looks good. Now….just have to figure out how to give it to the running back consistently

So, does the power meter on the revamped mode dictate how hard you throw it or bullet vs touch pass?

Played four games on All American last night. The computer pass rush is pretty strong sometimes and their DBs have much better awareness and hands than in any previous version. You can’t really spam concepts to abuse the comp like before. Went 3-1 with wins over an FCS team, Clemson and Vandy. Lost to Cal after giving up 35 points in the fourth quarter lol.

I’m still trying to figure it out myself. I don’t know how to throw it with loft and deep. Because the only way to get the ball deep is holding down the button that but that makes a bullet throw

my best way to play defense is my old madden way. I was hoping not to have to do that still but it helps me a lot. 4-3 playing with the DE and dropping back into coverage.

The AI really keys in if you repeat stuff a lot i've found. A well timed or random blitz was doing very well for me, but if I just wanted to play cover 3 or cover 2 man and ball hawk too many plays in a row, I'd get burned bad.

I was up until 2:00 fricking with my playbook and then my 9 month old got up at 5:00.

I work from home but I’m sitting in my recliner and playing video games all day today

My thoughts after exploring playbooks in the custom playbook and playing through 4 weeks on dynasty...All American difficulty the whole time.

Playbooks: There were over 100 different shotgun formations. Unreal. So much do pick through that it's hard to even look at it all, much less decide how to build your playbook. The I-Form, Singleback, etc was much more manageable with 10 or less formations each.

Dynasty: I like the recruiting. It's a little challenging simply because there's alot to do, but not impossibly hard or time consuming.

Passing game...Nuss hates me. Think right now he's at 7 TDs, 9 INTs I'm finding the passing game to be hard as hell. AI defenders will completely abandon their man the moment you press a button to throw to a different receiver to go jump the ball in flight...very unrealistic in that aspect as if they are in man, they shouldn't be staring down the QB to know when the ball is released and to where. I'm having some success against zone defense which plays more realistic. One complaint I'm having is that when I throw a curl, comeback, etc, the receiver will get to the bottom of the route and quit coming back to the ball, allowing defense to easily undercut. The defenders try to make a play on the ball harder than the receivers do...receivers just sit and wait on it to get to them.

Running game, I am loving the running game so far. The blocking and lineman movement feels good. The zone runs, dives, buck sweeps, jet sweeps, etc all feel good. Counter is the only play I've had no success with. The lineman don't do a great job on counters and often pull too slow and can't get the kick out blocks. Only big complaint with blocking is how bad the pass protection is. I shouldn't be getting sacked vs South Alabama within 2 seconds of snapping the ball. Receivers can't even run a 10 yard curl before I'm getting gang banged by 4 defensive lineman at the same time. I have a feeling the difficulty level basically just makes your line become less effective even against worse players.

Kicking game hasn't bothered me at all. I've only missed one kick, and that was @ South Carolina with a chance to win the game from about 45 yards on a hash. Bar was moving crazy fast. Game went to OT where I won it on a 2pt conversion.

Defense is hard. I've had very little success with man defense, 2 man, etc unless it was 3rd and a mile. Also, getting gashed in the run game vs man defense when the secondary defenders have their backs turned chasing receivers which is realistic. Having to play zone to stop the run, and then getting carved up in the intermediate/deep passing game. I've won all 4 games, but 3/4 have been won by 4 points or less and giving up 20+ points per game. A 3 pt win with a late FG over USC, a 4 pt win with a late TD over Kansas (swapped them for whoever LSU plays 2nd), a 3 pt win over South Carolina, and then blew out South Alabama by 30.

Random dynasty question...do the AI teams play 5 min quarters? Im looking at conference scores and stats, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee are scoring 50-60 points a game. I only get 5-6 possessions a game with 5 min quarters and sure as hell aren't scoring on all of them. My high score is 38, 3/4 games have been in the high 20s. I don't see how it's possible for the other teams to get that many possessions. No way there should have a 52-49 game with 5 minute quarters, but there they are. Means they had a minimum of 7-8 possessions each and that's if they never once stopped each other. QB's putting up 500 yard games. Impossible to compete with for awards and such. I know I could make my quarters longer, but don't want to be there all damn night just for one game.

Enjoying the game...just taking some serious getting used to. I also haven't played a Madden game since about 2017 maybe. Don't intend to play another.

Don't know for certain, but I feel like in past games the simulations were not the same 5 minute quarters. Maybe in like Madden 21 or so I think you could actually modify the quarter length for simulations. Or maybe it was one of the NBA 2k games, can't remember.

Either way, i'd wager the simulation quarters are longer if I had to bet.
