The dynamics you get with the time passing and different lighting, along with the weather make for some truly awesome visuals.
Yeah, sometimes my entire gaming session would consist of playing with various PC mods to take some nice screenshots.
I can't think of another game from the last decade that was so visually stunning and well-optimized for PC.
There have been a lot more mods developed since last year (back then there were just sweetfx/reshade mods). I may do another playthrough with some of the newer mods. Texture/draw distance/LOD enhancements and gameplay and GUI improvements. I noticed there's one that lets you fast travel without needing to visit a sign post, and another that gives you slots so you can use all skills at the same time.

Really should have been that way already. I rarely use them though. I like to travel around and look at the world.

Reading through this thread for the first time. Sounds like a lot of people sucked at fighting when it first came out
I never had any trouble with the battle system. Only time I died more then a couple times was one of the noonwraith contracts because I was over agressive and attacking when it was immaterial

It can be kind of a pain traversing with Roach. It can be glitchy too.

Only thing I get aggravated with is how he dosent come all the way to you when you whistle and gets hung up and shite so I have to run and get him

I've had bugs with three of the witcher contracts. Hopefully they come out with a patch to fix it or something.
Other than that the game is stunning.

The human enemies are insanely easy because they rarely attack. The beasts usually have a pattern or a weak point to exploit. Some of them are just a pain in the arse like getting swarmed by drowners.

I wish I had contributed more to this thread when the game released last year. It's one of those I wish I could go back and play for the first time again.

Did you ever come around bulldog? Sounded like you weren't a fan when it first released

The one thing about this game is that the challenge wasn't that big on the fighting IMO. I had to crank up the difficulty for it to even resemble a challenge. At first I was clumsy but when I invested points and got the groove I was basically unstoppable. I could even kill monsters that had the skull above their health bar more often than not if I was persistent.
That said, it's still one of my all-time favorite games.

I've been holding out long enough to get this game, would yall recommend PC or PS4?

If your rig can handle it, it's amazingly beautiful.

It looks great on PS4 and I wonder how much better it would look on PC for me. I don't think it would matter though. I know I can't run it on max settings.
Posted on 5/13/16 at 9:51 am to Mr Gardoki
Even if you can't max it out, you can run reshade mods and get the effect in my screenshots above. I forget what GPU you have though.

770 but I already own it on PS4, I'm not buying it again just for that. I have a family now damnit
Posted on 5/13/16 at 9:59 am to Mr Gardoki
You need to upgrade that shite anyway.

It's not about what I want. At least that's what I'm told
