PS4 Pro

I just got a 4K TV recently and kind of want to replace my PS4 with the Pro to take advantage of it. Do you think there will be a price drop on the Pro soon with the announcement of the Xbox One X?

What?? Do you have a link for this discounted PS4 Pro?
Has anyone found the best settings to use to calibrate the TV? I've found conflicting information on AVSforums and Rtings

4K / HDR Content

Posted by Geauxdzilla on 6/8/17 at 4:11 pm
I am having a bit of trouble finding a comprehensive up-to-date list of 4K and HDR content that is available to stream.

I understand that Youtube has some content, and Netflix (at the higher tier). I use Netflix from my PS4 (not PS4 Pro). Do i need to use the Netflix app through the Samsung TV in order to access the 4K content on Netflix though? (I have the Samsung KS8000)

Also where can i view true HDR content?

Best HD Antenna

Looking to buy an HD TV Antenna, what should i get?

that TV and the TV this thread is about are in 2 completely different realms.

I dont think so, supposedly has Dolby Vision HDR (which is a superset of HDR 10) and a wide color gamut, local dimming...

Wont know until reviews come out though
New sets are supposed to be pushing new ground

AVSforum has a review TV they received and should have something coming up soon(ish)
I'm a Kodi noob. What kind of hardware do i need to get Kodi working if i was interested in that? I have a PS4 and Smart TV
I never followed through with this due to skepticism, now i am rethinking...

This is coming out soon though which looks intriguing, reviews will be rolling out soon enough ($599)

If I was going to get a refurbished TV, I would get it from Walmart; that way if I do get a bad one I can just take it back to my local Walmart.

What is the return policy for refurbished TV? Same as regular return policy?
If you buy the protection plan and return within 14 days, you get refunded for the plan also?
I missed the deal on that Samsung 8series at Costco, its back up to $1400+

The deal search continues!

I wouldn't spend $60 on it but you can find it below $40 on a few websites.

Yeah, GreenManGaming and CDKeys has it around the $40 level

New TV

Posted by Geauxdzilla on 4/27/17 at 4:16 pm
Alright so I've done some extensive research wading through the jungle that is buying a new TV. 4K, HDR, Dolby Vision, Quantum Dot, wide color gamuts, local-dimming. Theres enough jargon to make you go crazy.

I'm a mid 20's with not a huge budget, so this makes my options somewhat more limited. What i have come to understand however is that true HDR (10-bit panel) is the most important factor in the next televolution of devices. I know there is not a lot of HDR content currently to take advantage of, but we will slowly start to see more and more. 4K is kind of an added bonus, but HDR is the real meat.

My original budget for a new TV was $500-900, and desired size 55". From what I've gathered, that seems to be a hard price point to get a TV with true HDR capabilities.

I know everyone is starting to release their 2017 models. Samsung recently released the MU series, not sure of improvements on those models.

Looking for advice.
You get a free key from ASUS?

I wanted to purchase this, as i was addicted to DoW2 back in the day, but i've heard they changed a lot; like no more "cover" and such. Still on the fence
