Velan story spoilers:
Yeah you really don't have a good outcome when it comes to that damn tree. Kill it then those witches eat the orphans, but you get to rescue the Baron's wife. If you let it help you it rescues the kids, but the Baron hangs himself, the tree murders a village, and apparently the Baron's soldiers go on a pillaging, raping, and murder spree.
I ended up killing the tree.

Yeah I was curious if you could frick without consequences. Haven't gotten to that point yet.
Also, regarding theft. Other than getting attacked if you steal in plain sight of a guard, are there any other consequences for stealing? Because at the beginning of the bloody baron quest, when investigating the bedrooms, I cleaned them out.

Yeah I thought hooking up with Triss would screw up your chances with Yen, but Geralt hooks up with her almost immediately if you want

I tried Gwent one time while drunk the other day. My brain did not process the rules correctly and I used all of my cards in round 1. Gonna have to go back relearn because it does seem like a fun addicting game. They ought to make a mobile app out of it.

I applaud them for not giving in to the temptation of Gwent card microtransactions, so far.
There are definitely a couple of multiplayer opportunities here. PvP Gwent, and maybe even combat duels.

I'm having a major issue.
I made it to the second zone and I have about 800 side quests... clearly I want to do some of them, but when I track a side quest and complete a partial objective, it resets my quest tracker to the main story quest.
Quite frustrating.
Liking this so far. Combat is more challenging than I thought.. mainly bc something can combo you and really F you up.
I also find it slightly annoying when I'm at a level 3 bandit camp and a level 15 mermaid man comes and slaughters me

I'm a level 5 and came across a Forktail, level 17 or something. I saved and then proceeded to engage, just to see what would happen. Killed me with a single hit.

they didnt playtest this game worth a frick. lazy fricking design
3 times today ive gone to a treasure and gotten stuck somehow. found a guarded treasure with a hag and killed her then fell in a hole near the chest and was unable to get out
found a hidden treasure under a half-sunk boat. in an earlier half-sunk boat, i found witcher gear. i got the hidden treasure and jumped into the boat to find nothing. a big beam blocked my way out and i had to reload from an hour.
stupid bullshite like this is really holding this game back. i can understand getting stuck in that 1/100000 spot in the corner of the map, but right in front of fricking quests?! come on

Yeah.. I've had a lot of the same problems. It's just not polished. They can fix that with patches, but I'll be done with it by then i think.
Gwent is kinda fun but people pull some bitch moves. I don't have many cards, so I need to get my good ones. The Yennefer card is SICK.

finished Family Matters and it's telling me to find Triss or find a captain to Skellige
I've gone from over 70 ?s to 28. been knocking them out big time. i think all the ones i have left are around oxenfurt.
only things i havent done are the enemies with ?? levels that 1 shot me. i was looking for a quest spot and ran into an archgriffin

Almost level 9. Think I saw that griffon. I still have a lot of ?s but most of them I can't do yet (treasure guarded by two level 15 noon wraiths

Think I'm gonna do secondary quests and wait till lvl 12 or so bc I hate running all the way out somewhere and realize it's out of my league then running back to a fast travel spot
