An excellent Skyrim mod.

My internet has been fricked up for a week and a half so not much downloading for me and I have a back log of steam sale games to download too.

It's so bad that while my parents are out of town I packed up my computer put my dog in the car and drove an hour away to their house so I could play SWtoR this weekend. Hopefully they get it fixed this week.

By far the best game of 2011. I just love how much I'm getting about of my $60. Now way COD or BF3 would have given me this many hours of playing time.

Played for several hours today and finally got my smithing up to 100 and made my daedra armor and everything and it looks like I've maxed the armor out as far as upgrading it. It's at legendary level. I think the breast plate is at 167 or something but I thought it could get much higher. I thought I had seen where people had gotten it up to 600 or so. I mean I'm already pretty unstoppable against most things but I feel like I could be even more badass. Am I doing something wrong?

While I haven't played wither BF3 or MW3 (own both) I have to agree in my long gaming career I have 220 hours played and with my internet messed up most of the time right now I still play the game.

Try to unlock a kit all the way in BF3.

Wear enchanted apparel that boost your smithing, and drink a blacksmiths potion then improve your stuff.

Yes. You need to fortify it.

Just got Skyrim for christmas. Usually I hate this type of game, but damn, this game is good. Going as Dark Elf and working up my magika right now. What are some of the best items (armour, jewelry, and what not) to get?

ETA: Also, is the best way to get items and level up doing the main quests or side quests? I can't tell If I should get sidetracked and do a bunch of sidequests and get a bunch of awesome gear, or do the main quest story.

Really depends on how you're going to play the game. Light armor for sneak types, heavy for melee combat types. I had a mage character and used heavy armor anyway. Armor for the most part will fall in your lap, but as the game progresses you'll find that if you don't get deep into smithing and enchanting then some enemies will start to leave you behind at about level 30 or so.

Thanks

I'm level 14 right now, but haven't been able to get a big amount of money to buy anything good, and I haven't been able to find materials/attain abilities to smith good armor. If I find a strong enemy, my Magic is almost useless and I die from like 3 hits.

Going mage is harder than melee.

I would do mostly side quests until you are ready to stop playing the game.

I would do the first 2 main story quests because then you can visit the graybeards and get sidequests to get the shouts.

After a nice dungeon trip, sell loot until the store is out of gold and then buy up iron bars and soul gems. Then sell more gear.

Save enchanted gear to disenchant on the enchanting table in Whiterun castle.

My mage is about lvl 30 and he gets clobbered by melee types and other mages. I've been working on smithing and enchanting so I can get some mage resistant gear.

I've noticed something strange just started with my game. Up until yesterday my game had been freezing/lagging/and crashing constantly. it was taking 45 seconds every time i fast traveled/went into a store. even when I erased some stuff and turned off autosave I still had frame rate issues.

but out of nowhere last night, when I went into a shop or fast traveled it literally would load in 6-7 seconds. and the lagging was severely cut back, but it still did lag a little. anyway, i'm not complaining it's awesome actually. I just can't figure it out.

Played some marathon sessions over the last 5 days while off for Christmas. got to the point that it only made sense to finish the main quest.

Finished MQ at 217 hours played. I still have a few Daedric quests to finish and a few radiant quests I haven't cleaned up.

Going to probably start my second character sometime this week.

Yea, I've paused on the main story and have been racking up on cash any way I can and making daggers like crazy, building my smithing up so I can get some good armor to allow me to take a few more blows. I am still astounded by the graphics of this game, and how I still haven't gotten tired of any of it. It really is a testament to how good this game is, when I of all people can enjoy it this much. At this point in other game I would have already sold it.

I started a mage, and I have a few questions. What pieces of clothing should a mage wear? I know armor reduces their effectiveness. I know I should wear a ring, amulet, hood, and a robe, but I'm not sure if what else I can where that can be enchanted. Instead of a robe, can I enchant a shirt and pants? What about shoes? Will they reduce my effectiveness? Any help is appreciated. I thought this was something I could easily find online, but I haven't had any luck.
