Why? You dont like truths about career movement in game development and how its affected Bethesda negatively? I am not even saying it hasnt been properly fixed and addressed and Starfield wont be the game that brings them back to top dog. Just that it is something that had to be or it will fail

Ok lets try to nail down. What makes something a failure, in your eyes? Strictly financial? Goals the studio had outside of just sells? Impact on the reputation or good will of its fans going forward? Popular reception and consensus? Im curious what your definition is

FFXI is still alive and being supported by SE 20+ years after it launched. Was still considered by many as a top 10 MMO a few years ago.

I am not going to change a single persons mind in a thread filled with people hyped for this game and Bethesda fan boys. It still needs to be said. Taking a critical eye to media you enjoy helps enforce the feedback loop that makes it better in the future. I have my blind spots as well obviously but I try to do my best. I also have never once stated it cant be a masterpiece or even game of the year, just my personal opinion itll hover around a 6ish

Yeah and they are remastering it. I enjoyed it. Still a failure. I love the 13 trilogy but after the first one took big negative critical reception and they carried on with 2 and lightning returns and type 0 was that them supporting a popular well like game on mass as you insinuate with 11? Or sunk cost fallacy and hubris

And if 11 was so successful why was 14 needed? Did wow need a new version in like 5 yearS?
Also microsofts needs and impact has to be considered here. They need a mass appeal game with the biggest revenue potential badly now. That likely means little innovation, stolen ideas proven popular in sci fi games, and general playing it safely and broadly appealing. That isnt how you get games that made bethesda but it is how you get a 6 which is why i concluded that. A perfectly playable game and likely enjoyable equal to something like ff15

I'm really curious how much they improved upon their shooting mechanics. I thought it was pretty good with Fallout 4, major improvement from 3.
