I didn't really find the graphics underwhelming though. I thought a lot of stuff looked much better than current stuff and there was so much stuff going on (especially in Assasin's Creed 4 and FF15).
That said, you were watching a live stream that likely wasn't in high definition. Wait until these trailers get uploaded to PSN or sites in HD. Watch again and re-evaluate.

Nintendo has a mini-conference starting now. Will last 30 minutes - 1 hour.

quote:non-bias master race here, but judging by the reactions of this thread vs. the reactions of the xbox thread, I'd say Microsoft wowed the audience much more than Sony did. Sure the 24 hour internet thing sucks. But the Xbox exclusives looked much better to me. I think Sony fanboys are blowing the kinect issue up way bigger than it should be. Most people already have a kinect for the 360 anyway. I don't see the issue with including the kinect with the next gen console. This is Microsoft's way of competing with Nintendo and Sony at the same time. The fact that it's always on is a bit weird, but for those who aren't conspiracy theorists, it shouldn't be a big deal. The PS4's launch lineup is god-awful, while XB1 has some pretty legit looking exclusives coming out with the launch. The fact that the Xb1 comes with kinect and is still only $100 more than the PS4 is worth noting, too. I think most Xbox fanboys were very pleased with the price tag.
I think they are so happy about how bad Microsoft is coming off that they could care less.

Most would disagree.

It's obviously not coming out at launch, and is being developed by a studio known for taking ages to make games. Then again this is just what I observed. But I see no reason to go out and buy a PS4 on launch day. Not nearly enough to justify paying full price. Especially if you already have a PS3.
Most would disagree.

Nothing wrong with the lineup. Killzone is a generally liked series, and I think there's a demo being shown today. Driveclub looks decent. Knack is from Mark Cerny, he's worked on Sonic the Hedgehog 2, with Naughty Dog (on the Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter series and the first Uncharted game), and Insomniac Games (on the Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet and Clank series and Resistance series).

s it a big deal that the graphics were very underwhelming last night? I'm considering myself a pretty heavy PS4 lean, especially bc of the price, but those graphics really turned me off.
Games shown during Xbones presentation looked incredible. Most of that Watch Dogs cut scene looked like live action
i really didn't see that much of a difference esp when EA did its demo's. Both will look good but would you rather have 3GB dedicated to just the OS which to me seems like over kill.
Im buying PS4 first but after Xbox basically said this is our game plan and deal with it ive backed off on getting both now and will probably wait around 2 years before getting the one.

unconfirmed and somewhat dispelled by an article posted here a few weeks ago.

It's not like the payment plan for xbox though
For xbox all you get for your payment is online access
For PS4 though you get all the benefits of Plus, which is free games

Yeah...I'm sort of torn. Games that are coming to both like Watch Dogs, Metal Gear Solid, and Madden looked incredible. Then they get to PS and the only games that really wowed me were Final Fantasy and that Sorceror game. Even then, many of the textures just didn't impress me. That 1886 game looked alright, the facial expression were on point, but then again LA Noire had that three years ago.
ETA: Definitely looking forward to better trailers coming out.

PS4 games will look the same or better. And that "Sorcerer game" is just a tech demo.

The reaction to the four exclusives they showed launching with PS4 have all gotten favorable reaction. It'll have all of the big multiplats at launch as well.
Most consoles only have ~10 games at launch, what matters are the 140 they said to launch by the end of its first year on the market.

It'll be tough for the games to look worse on better hardware.
