just learned that if you are looking at the gym icon from your map, you can see if its being trained at. some type of yellow lightning appeared and its prestige level rose
someone is farming my shitty 534 venomoth to raise gym level
I assume you can determine if one is being taken over too in case you wanted to roll over there and intimidate

Yea, if someone is battling, regardless of training or enemy, a bunch of lightning is around it.

I live next to a pokestop too, last night about 1230 am I see the pokestop that's right next to me light up with a lure.
said "what the frick" and looked out my window.. see a teenager standing in the street, by himself, looking at his phone
dangerous as frick but I can respect his pokegrind.

Anybody have any luck with some Magikarp grinding around any bodies of water? There's a lot of water around here and I'm not opposed to making a drive down to the beach and hanging out catching 345083463496 Magikarps.

Don't farm now, just wait for them to come.
You don't want to waste that 400 just to need 40000 more candies just to power up. Wait to evolve just a little bit later, because it will be useless pretty early.

I know we are supposed to "wait to evolve", but man its tough to put off enjoying the game further
half of us here may not even make it to lvl 20 for these "better pokemon we will catch later"
I agree with the advice and its technically correct but damn... saving all stardust and not evolving anything to stage 3 is such a tease

This was my problem.
I thought we were supposed to capture and evolve the little thing into a badass.
But really you are supposed to level up and capture the badasses and make those even better.

as i went around the lakes I saw 3-4 trucks stopped on the sidewalk with people on their phones swiping. this is nuts. i dk how this is going to work when school is back in...
