Yea, I just leave a low level one. Mostly for the insult, but I also level it up a bunch so people can drop some good ones on it as well.

me and some friends took over Rojo (restaurant in Birmingham) this past weekend before heading out to Sloss Fest. We leveled the gym to 8 while we were there and had 7 people defending with a low of like 1100 (highest 1850ish) and it was gone within a few hours

yea, going to cool places like the zoo is for sure the way the game is best played. tons of lures, stops, gyms, spawns, and a fun place to boot.

Hasn't gone down for me all day. I work in a faraday cage so I don't get any GPS signal in here, but I can always connect to the server and when I step outside GPS connects immediately and it works.

I rolled up on a gym that was just defended by a 10cp magikarp. I thought it was beautiful.
I also pulled into a parking lot by a gym because it had a pokestop right next to it. As I parked my car, I looked over to the left. There was a Chrysler 300 with 5 kids in it playing pokemon. When they saw me looking over, they all got an "oh shite!" look on their face and took off. I chuckled.
Around 2:30, I figured I would take some time off and hang out by a lured pokestop for once. Luckily it was somebody else's lure because that's the time they decided to push an update and crash the servers. I don't get why those bastards couldn't have waited until like 3 in the morning for a friggin text patch.

To add 'big' before magikarp and "tiny" before rattata in 2 badge descriptions
No lie.
The fact that they took down working production revenue generating servers for this is troubling
There has to be some hidden changes included. Probably backend performance stuff

Has anyone used Ingress to track down the Pokemon spawn points? I've heard it's pretty spot on. Does not tell you what kind of pokemon are there, but it apparently shows the spawn points of the pokemon.
I just downloaded it and have not been able to try it because of the servers being down. Would be cool to see if you could nail down the spawn points of certain pokemon, write them down and go back to them every 30 minutes.

ive been using it, yea.
but now there are fanmade sites like pokevision.com that just show you pokemon spawns in an entire area.
plus the green rustling leaves on the pogo map generally show the same thing the ingress map would show... xm clusters
