time to invest in portable battery charger companies!
Seriously, I was out at Railroad Park with my girlfriend and another friend of ours last night. They both had their phones attached to chargers in their pocket, as did about a dozen other people I saw out there hunting Pokes.

I turned off AR. I won't be turning it back on, either. It's neat, but it gets old twisting my body around to find the damn poke. It seemed to make a big difference on the battery. There's a battery-saver option, but I have no idea if that works or even how it works.

It works great when you're walking around...just drop the phone to your side and it kills the screen, but will still vibrate if something spawns nearby...once you pull the phone up to look at it, it will automatically brighten back up and show the map.

a new update is coming out.
"a few text fixes" is the only thing in the changelog
pray for a Tracker fix
servers have been good today. got some gym battles in at lunch. even though gym battles are pretty dumb... 6v1 when attacking a lvl 1 gym.. ok.
then ofc it will get immediately taken back , and my Collection button was on cooldown so I think I made a cool 100 xp for taking a gym, the same as capturing a cp11 pidgey at lvl 1

Fair warning to anyone that uses that option, I've had it frick me numerous times. When I took the phone out of my pocket and "woke" the screen, it was unresponsive to touch. The only way to get it to work again was to force-close the app and restart it. A pain in the arse.

I bought this during amazon day, looks like it would be perfect for those day time Pokemon jaunts.

0.29.3 is live in both stores
nothing fixed but "minor text issues"
gotta admit the servers were smooth for me today at least

Yeah, only had to restart once (I think the gps was lagging and I got impatient). I didn't have any instances of catching a poke and the game freezing like I've normally had before.

yea, going to cool places like the zoo is for sure the way the game is best played. tons of lures, stops, gyms, spawns, and a fun place to boot.
hoping to do that this Friday. went to the beach in Gulfport this past weekend and found a triple lure in a park.. was glorious but I couldn't stay long.

How are people getting these low level pokemon into gyms?
I wanna my low level stuff in gyms to defend but they get smoked every time.

Servers very smooth today; not a single freeze up

They beat the gym with their best six then just leave a garbage pokemon there and move on.
No since in leaving a good one there because it will just get 1v6d, and then you have one less good attacker for the next gym

The new update makes you stick your dick in an electric outlet to open the app. Another great update Niantic!

its almost pointless to attack a gym. Better to get a good mon in a solid gym of your teams to defend, much better chance of him staying in there IMO.

now if you rolled in a group of 6 and all had cp1500+ pokemon, taking a gym down then leaving a strong lineup would be worthwhile.
sometimes ppl just get lucky and see a gym at like 11500/12000 and just train twice to leave a pokemon defender there
Plus if you leave a trash pokemon at a gym, you wont have to burn potions/revives to restore them. just trade it in for candy.
but everyone has a billion potions anyways I reckon

yes, definitely agree with that.
I left a 550 venomoth in a lvl 7 gym while I was out of town this past weekend, and racked up 3 or 4 Collections. It was of course backed by 1300 Snorlax/Vaporeons
but I kind of got lucky and only had to train once or twice to earn a spot on the lineup. then more team members fortified the gym instead of enemy team members taking it.
