Just missed a geodude and ghastly. Tracker showed them first and second but with the prints all still reading 3 I couldn't pinpoint the direction. I just know they were somewhere around a cemetery.

They disabled it on purpose because of server crashing.
It's down because they want it to be down. I doubt it ever comes back. Too many server requests to track up to 9 pokemon per player

Thats kind of bullshite to me.
Tracking a rare pokemon is the best part of the game.
You can't have pokemon go without the tracker.

Yeah. Would be sick though.
Game can't handle capturing 1 weedle in a parking lot..not sure how it could realistically pull off an event that requires >2 ppl.

Yes that was a lot of fun those first few days, I agree.
Now im at lvl 19 and everything on nearby is garbage. Garbage I can't even track. Do I really want to plop down real money or go spend time/gas hitting up 100 pokestops for balls? Tough question

Can we just go ahead and make this game a mobile VR headset? So I can have it this way for 5 seconds before walking into traffic or being tboned by someone driving and playing.

No one knows if the tracker is down on purpose to keep the servers going or if there is some bug they haven't worked out yet.
My suspicions is too much server load. They will probably keep it down til the fad wears off and they get a more realistic look at their server needs going forward. The grind above 25 is real and we will see a steep decline.
Realistically you don't need a tracker to level and that's what you should be focusing on.

The thing with this game is there are so many things that could be tweaked or implemented to make this game great. People have been coming up with really cool ideas, and frankly a lot of it should have been available at launch with all the time/money spent in developing this game and with the power of Nintendo behind it.
Niantic released what seems like a beta as the final product, and they can barely keep it up and running. So far the jury is still out on them as game developers.
I'm just hoping new features continue to be implemented and some of the current game mechanics get fixed after all the feedback they're getting.
