The latest gameinformer says that they played this game, and they can't help but feel that this is more like a map expansion pack and not a full-fledged game. Kill Confirmed was a nice addition, they said, but it's apparent that IW isn't branching out too much.
They also admit that it will still sell like hotcakes.

I don't get why anyone would expect it to "branch out" much at all. Do they expect Madden or Tiger Woods to re-invent itself every year? They've added new game modes, weapon proficiencies, new weapons and equipment, etc. Why would they ever try to do anything more than address and eliminate issues from prior versions and make small improvements where they can without losing what makes the games great in the first place?

I hope it's less gay than before, but I don't know. Make the game cleaner...no Javelin and care package glitches and all that stupidity.
MW2 needs a refresh. This is it. Don't really expect anything more, TBH.

I think the gripes starting with MW2 and going to BLOPS is an indication of why. I saw it with NCAA this year. All this excitement at release, but most people I saw post did nothing but gripe about all the problems it had and pretty much gave up on the game. The COD series is approaching that Madden/NCAA staleness point, and most people feel they need to do something about it.
Makes you wonder if this is why West and Zampella were so intent on starting a new IP.

have we established whether or not elite will be worth it or not? it's only a 10 dollar difference to get content early.
eta: not to mention a 20 dollar difference if some decide not to get elite and get the content for 15 bucks per pack as usual.

I do not like this. I want to play MW3. But not so much to drop $100 for the game with extras. Feel like when I decide to play after a couple months I will be so far behind.

Nope. Just made the transition from being a straight TDM player to a domination/search and destroy team player. If I play straight TDM ill be around a 1.5 kd. Not great but not turrible.

Are most people going with the hardened addition? From what i am reading you will get any map packs for free the first year with the hardened?

Elite for a year
Founder status on Elite (whatever that means)
DLC for the year is included in that price
You get DLC monthly instead of quarterly

I always go with the hardened anyway because i like the metal cases, but this year i actually get free map packs so I will no doubt be getting it
