This is assuming Faze even wants to get into League. I didn't include them simply because I didn't think they'd make a team. I'm scared of the idea of the FPS and MOBA fanbases coming together.
ETA: Luminosity is also a possibility, although I'm not sure they have the $$$

It's a historic EU org though. I mean maybe they wind up in NA, I just don't see it.

Their CS:GO team is Brazilian. They also have an NA Paladins team.

Yea an at one point they were the best team in the world, but they've fallen off a little. They cut fnx after he was found sleeping with a teammates girlfriend.

I'm not saying they don't have teams in their areas, I just Rito would tell them to get back to their EU slum.

Update: More information has surfaced in regards to Immortals' declination. In addition to Immortals' role in the Overwatch League, sources close to Riot Games have contacted ESPN to express that Riot had concerns around Immortals' finances. The team has operated at a significant loss since its formation in late 2015, sources said, and would not be able to contribute to the revenue share -- which sees money go both to and from the developer and other teams.

Presumably EF operating at a profit then? OOOOOOORRRR Riot didn't want to seem petty about OWL and this is a smokescreen.

Travis put out a great video explaining it, Rito didn't care as much about OWL, it's the lack of money and sponsorships that did IMT in.
TSM's own Reginald said in any interview back in the summer with Travis that he wanted to see IMT do more to secure sponsors and turn a profit.
Here ya go
Also, I love Travis, such great content and seems like a really good dude that everyone in the scene loves.

Travis is awesome. Completely freelance still, too. I'm surprised he hasn't gotten picked up by ESPN. He'd instantly improve their shite league content.

Also, I just saw this in regards to CLG and was like daaaamn. So yeah, it must all be about those investors/sponsors/money within the org more than anything else. Which makes sense.
So basically even CLG would have likely been denied if it weren't for a last minute big time investment. Now that would have been crazy.

CLG was literally saved by the bell. I don't know if they would've gotten in without that Madison Square Garden partnership.

I actually was thinking about that because CLG was definitely behind the 8-ball for a really long time in terms of investors. Truth be told, so was TSM. They probably don't get in without T-Mobile.

I'm interested to see what orgs did make it through.
Posted on 10/18/17 at 6:47 pm to CorporateTiger
Jesus...reddit is all on this Riot witchhunt because they've convinced themselves Riot declined IMT because they have an Overwatch team and are crying hypocrisy because other orgs have other teams. I fricking hate the general public. So stupid. Idiots on twitter saying to boycott the LCS. LMAO

All that subreddit does is witchhunt and wait for the next, it is an awful awful piece of the internet.

Ok I had a chance to watch Travis's whole video. Overall, I am glad he is trying to talk this through rather than just going pitchforks on each other. With that said.... I'm not sure his sponsorship theory is totally convincing. Yes Optic certainly have better sponsorships, but the new Lacob team will have none unless that org is consolidated under the GSW umbrella.
Is it possible that having no track record is better than a Abbas track record? Yes. However it is going to take this Lacob group a while to build a fan base even if they can sign some companies.
I mean maybe Imt just weren't that serious about getting into NALCS. I don't honestly know at this point. I would also assume Blizzard wouldn't give the LA slot to a team with finances that bad...

It's pretty fricking bad. But every now and then they'll produce something funny as hell and it keeps you coming back.
Unrelated, but TSM Lustboy is official. He's back on as an analyst. I'm already happy with where things are going. Lustboy was great for LZ when he was on their staff.
