At least with this update, you can feel like your contributing late/end game as support. Beforehand, you're were pretty much irrelevant.

ETA: Another reason I like the update...you don't have nearly as many instances of some top/mid laner that has a few more kills than you easily 1v2ing your bot lane like a hot knife through butter.

Honestly, I always felt like mid and top lane had way too much of an advantage in how quickly they gained strength.

Actually I love the buffs to supports too. My main problem is the shield item supports get which is the most op item I've ever seen in the game and the exp bonus bot gets. So now whichever bot lane wins it's much harder to gank them and the jungler probably won't have enough strength to get a good gank on them. It is just so hard to stop a snowballing bot lane right now.

Of course not. You can't break a well-timed gank. But the early strength of junglers is gone. Of course junglers still have the ability to gank, but the issue is that early ganks are gone, and that was pretty much the only thing junglers had left was a power spike in the early game. That's the whole point.

Is there such a thing as a skilled a riven? Because even the plat rivens seem like all they know how to do is slam their face onto the keyboard on the way to a 0-7 game.

Leona support with with all armor and MR runes is getting fun (34 armor to start via runes). Tanky as hell.

I'm watching some old season 2 matches. IPL 4 and 5 and a few IPL Face-off's. I'm absolutely blown away how drastically the meta changed in one season. There was no such thing as early fights in season 2. Every game was a farm fest until 20 minutes or so, then teams would group. Laning phase was boring outside of some normal ganks. Very few turret dives even though towers were a billion times weaker back then. Team fights lasted a lot longer. There wasn't an over abundance of burst damage. I personally think the game, in addition to teams just playing on a higher level now, I think the game is in a better place right now. Obviously they need to fix some of the pre-season changes they just made, but overall I think they've done a good job of steadily improving the concept of the game without making it a drastic over-night change. You don't really notice how different the gameplay is until you go back and look at how we used to play it. I have to applaud Riot for that.

I've been running what you have, the all armor + MR blues, but I still have GP10 Quints.

I've been playing Taric almost nonstop since he is OP as frick right now.

I was running the GP10 as well, but with the advent of the new support items, I swapped them out for the extra armor.
