I did, but I play support.
I usually win my lane, but playing support makes it much more difficult too carry.
Like I said, I was moving up in the division, but getting 3 LP a win wasn't fun.

To play support right in ranked, you basically have to be a game manager.
1. Objective timers
2. Opposing ward timers, esp early when no one has oracles. Wards die in 3 min, when you see enemy lane place ward, say in chat when ward dies so jungle can make use of the window if they aren't brain dead
3. Keep an eye on other's lanes and ping back if they overextend, are about to get banned, etc.
4. Ping back if you feel your team is starting to go full retard and is about to throw
Playing support is a lot more than just warding/ward clearing/winning bot

Pretty much tanked right now.
First game with Nocturne... owns.

Think I'm gonna start playing nothing but nidalee.
Hard to counterpick in draft since she can pretty much play anything except jungle effectively.
Played her as support for a few games and it worked out extremely well. Paired up with a Varus in bot lane and the poke was stupid good.
Usually play Nami or Janna support, but I like the versatility of Nid and with some decent AP her spear is nasty and her heal is viable.
ETA: Went 9/3/17 and 6/3/6 in my first two games

New jungle camps, free wards, supports utility scaling with AP, destroying an inhib doesn't buff other lanes, changes to brushes.
Pink wards now take 5 hits to destroy and don't go invisible. Each player can only have 3 sight wards down at a time.

Watched that video yesterday actually. Seems pretty cool. Hopefully other lanes will actually buy wards like they are supposed to.
