Is Bawsak (sp?) down for everyone else? Having to wait on Lester's mission to invest till it's back online

That is what me and a buddy of mine have been saying, if it was gonna be this screwd up at launch they might as well had opened online on the release date
They must have some terrible business analytics team at Rockstar. Could they really not analyze where they were lacking server access in areas where there was a large number of purchases made?
I just think the dumb tutorial race at the beginning that requires you to play with a bunch of rando's is fricking things up. The game has been out for 2 weeks, we don't need a tutorial on how to race.

Just started and it's like a car race but it won't start. It's like I'm stuck. Been waiting for about 10 mins. Wtf is going on
Same I waited 20 min and restarted and still have the same problems

Yeah I posted it then started reading the thread. Glad I'm not the only one. I'm done with this shite for now

My ps3 goes to black screen when I click OK to update. Are others having this problem?
Happened to me too. I had to unplug it from the back to restart it and then the update downloaded fine.

how often does the stock market change? Is it specifically for missions, or can I invest it and then the next day go check on it and make a profit?

Mine was doing the same
Waited until the car sequence finished and then pressed ok to start the install
Worked fine
ETA: I did it without signing in also

It's sort of ridiculous.. They made a billion dollars last week, you'd think they'd be more prepared.

yeah, they knew the amount of copies sold, but there are a lot of logistical idiosyncrasies to figure out still with the amount of traffic hitting their servers.
It's not like Rockstar wants the online launch to be buggy and yall can be damn sure that they will get it fixed.

this.
from a server engineer's perspective. there's nothing you can do but pucker up your butthole when you get hit with this much traffic this fast. No amount of preparation, testing, or planning will provide a perfectly smooth launch night. Just bust your arse to resolve the problems in a short period of time so your customer base doesn't leave for good

I'm glad someone with technical knowledge said this because I have been thinking it, especially as I see reddit and what not crush them for it.

Congrats.
I must say I'm pretty disappointed.Like most of you, I've been trying all evening to connect before I leave for business tomorrow. I hope when I get back to town Saturday evening it's up and running.
Have fun

To the people that got in, did you just wait on the Waiting for players screen or keep trying to reload it until you finally got in
Posted on 10/1/13 at 10:01 pm to Ed Osteen
I played for about 3 hours with corndog and smoke, the hard part is getting past the tutorial race mission. I dashboarded twice when it froze on waiting for players and then the third time it pushed me through to the race.
