okay then. this only pertains to the Queen and what I think her background is. I'm pretty sure I'm not saying anything about Gears 3, but just to be safe...
SPOILERISH*** (sort of)
I think she was probably one of Adam Fenix's colleagues.
at some point, the COG was playing around with human experimentation. maybe trying to make better soldiers? Sires are some weird genetic experiments you can find in Gears 2, that's where I'm pulling this out from.
did some gene splicing with humans and hollow creatures and voila! Locust.
Horrified by what they've done, the humans try to eradicate this new species. This lady scientist pities them and flees underground with the few she can save.
E day is revenge coupled with a strong need to flee from imulsion/the lambent.
I'm sure the actual story is nowhere close to this, but if Epic doesn't want to explain it further, this is what I choose to believe.

to be honest, there isn't much in the way of spoilers. just tryin to cover my arse in case someone gets offended.
Locust Queen gets no fricking background whatsoever. Disappointing considering she's the leader of the group of creatures you've been fighting for three games now. We know virtually nothing about this broad.
and, as I said, this is basically my own interpretation. I'm sure someone could shoot my little story full of holes if they were so inclined.

well, that seems to be one of the easier ones to do on insane.
take the base at the top of the stairway and it funnels all the locust straight into your line of fire.

Played some horde tonight and got to lvl 30. Anyone have any luck killing the freaking berzerkers? We couldn't even bring one of them down.
