Yep key bindings are bad and they dont give you enough details on what they all do in the settings menu. Took me forever to figure out how to turn off my flashlight.

I can build a damn generator, put on a light show, and build turrets but I can't make ammo?

Been playing on normal. Early on I had a ton of ammo and was very liberal in terms of using it. Now im at a point where I have to save every round.

I like how Fallout 4 is finally here and we are all playing it like an American Pickers simulator.

People rely on my hard cutting commentary on games, this place would fold without me, you on the other hand.

Is there any doubt this will win GOTY? I think name alone put hit half way there, and a mostly stable working release helps. I'm only about 16 hours in and I know it will be for me.

Even though I haven't played either one, I'd think Metal Gear and Mario Maker are the front runners. Perhaps Witcher 3 but I've heard plenty of grumbling about that one.

/u/Dylloop95 created a post regarding this topic. Based on the comments of that post and from what I've experienced, I am expanding the list for everyone to use and will continue to expand/re-organize it over time.
NOTE: I will be borrowing information directly from other users. The majority of this is not my original creation and I will attempt to link every source that I pull from over time. Until I can, note that all of the information presented here can be found in the /u/Dylloop95 post. I will attempt to avoid spoilers as much as possible.

When Building…

...sleep in a bed before you craft anything. You'll acquire a Well-Rested bonus and gain more XP from the items you make and modify.
...don’t scrap your workbenches in your first settlement. Move them to a position you find suitable so you can use them later.
...assign settlers to resources by entering workshop mode, highlighting the settler, selecting the command prompt, and then selecting the appropriate resource (such as, beds, plants, stores, etc). You can even assign them to transfer goods from one settlement to another by selecting the Supply Line command.
...highlighting a settler in workshop mode will highlight any resources they’re assigned to.
...settlers assigned to plants will gather up to 6 food in resources. Some plants give 0.5 food while others give more. Plant accordingly.
...settlers assigned to guard posts will stand at up to three different posts.
...create a bell to summon your settlers to your location.
...give each settler an identifiable piece of armor to distinguish them from any new settlers.
...plant corn, mutfruit, and tato and assign settlers to these plans. Using these plants along with purified water (gathered and placed into your workbench by your settlers), you can make Vegetable Starch which breaks down into 5 Adhesive.
...you can create an item similar to Vegetable Starch at a chemistry station. The item is called Cutting Fluid.
...settlers assigned to resources will deposit any excess resources and/or caps into your workbench.
...make sure that your defenses are higher than your water + food. This will lessen any the amount of attacks your settlement will receive.
...you can raise or lower structures by holding E and using scroll wheel on PC, X and L1/R1 on PS4.
...press and hold the move command to select all structures attached and/or near to the selected structure. Just be careful not to move or mess up large sections of your settlement with this.
...place a structure on a rug and then move the rug to your preferred location. The structure will remain on the rug and use the rugs hit detection, allowing you clip structures into walls/objects more easily.
...scrap the barrels and cars at the Starlight Drive-In to remove any risk of being irradiated by them.
...make sure Dogmeat has a dog house for him to stay in. It might not hurt to build two. Who knows? You might just find him a friend.

When Crafting…

...any junk stored in your workbench will be broken down automatically. Mods and other items will not be broken down though.
...place any mods and aid items into your workbench. You’ll be able to use them at your leisure at any crafting station in your settlement.
...tag specific materials by going into your junk section and switching to material. Tagging specific materials may also highlight items as you’re exploring too.
...your settlers, if assigned to a task, will deposit extra resources into your workbench over time.
...rename your preferred weapons with the ammo type in parentheses or with some other marker in order to better keep track of what you have.
...legendary weapons are marked with a star.
...found a gun with a better mod? swap it out with a lesser mod and place the better mod on your preferred weapon or armor of the same type. no perks required.
...scrap weapons and armor with mods you don't want or need to acquire more advanced materials. (Scrapper perk required)
...mods that you replace at workbenches will be placed in your inventory, not your workbench. Don’t forget to transfer them over.
...you can tag specific materials by going into your junk section and switching to material view. Tagging these items may highlight them as you’re exploring too.
...if you fast travel between settlements your crops will grow upon your return.

When Exploring…

...Codsworth can say certain character names. Choose yours wisely.
...quests may not always inform you that "You're about to become an enemy to a particular faction".
...you can wait or sleep for extended periods of time using chairs, benches, and/or beds.
...periodically use VATs to find enemies and landmines.
...sell Fusion Cores to traders before they run out. You will get much more for a partially charged core, over an empty core. (Cap Collector perk required)
...sneak up behind enemies with power armor and steal their Fusion cores. This will cause them to exit their armor and allow you to steal the frame. You won't be able to take it from them if they die inside of it.
...shoot searchlights and turrets to avoid any unwanted attention.
...The Lone Wanderer perk still provides bonuses with Dogmeat as a companion.
...remove the Fusion Core from your power armor so enemies and/or settlers can't use it.
...transfer armor and/or weapons to your companion/settlers and select the prompt to have them equip it ("T" for PC, "Y" for Xbox, "Triangle" for PS4).
...the further away from Sanctuary you go the higher the enemy levels will be.
...invest in perks that allow you to find more caps/ammo in containers.
...if you're carrying too much weight, give some stuff to your companion or remove mods from weapons/armor at workbenches and then scrap the item.
...if you're carrying too much weight, place your junk in a workbench or a container near a fast travel point and come back for it later.
...while in power armor, sprinting, strong melee attacks, and VATs will drain your Fusion Core more quickly.
...only your power armor has a condition/durability rating. Repair your power armor by exiting it near a power armor station and crafting repairs through the station.
...while in power armor, you do not take fall damage but you certainly will sink.
...fast traveling while in power armor will not drain your Fusion Core and you can still fast travel if your Fusion Core is empty.
...there is no level cap and to spend your perks at your leisure.
...you can change the distance you view your Pipboy from by selecting the key/button that changes from 1st/3rd person perspectives.
...pause the game and change the color of your Pipboy light/flashilight in the options menu, if you feel so inclined.
...some companions can hack or lockpick for you (Cait can lockpick and Nick Valentine can hack).
...look for [], <>, and {} when you're hacking. Selecting these brackets can either remove wrong answers or reset your tries.
...exit a terminal before your last hack attempt to reset your tries.
...talk to named and unnamed NPCs. They may give you some work or mention a location that will then be updated on your map.
...quicksave before attempting to persuade an NPC so that you can reload to that part of the conversation in the event that your persuasion attempt fails.
...raise the difficulty level to find more legendary enemies with legendary weapons. The risk is worth the rewards.
...bring Dogmeat back to Vault 111. He might just snag something from the Overseer's Office.
...your map highlights the last power armor you entered. Make sure you know where you've put them all.
...you don't need to use a stimpak on a fallen companion. If there aren't any enemies nearby, they'll get up on their own.
...hold down VATs to see the quest line (V.A.N.S. perk required).
...you can do a powerful attack by sprinting and attacking with a melee weapon.
...use VATs to shoot projectiles in the air or enemy hands.
...you can command a companion to leave their power armor by selecting the appropriate dialogue option.
...if you're in first-person you can peak out from behind cover by zooming in.
...enter your hold house in Sanctuary to find the You're S.P.E.C.I.A.L book. It'll give you another attribute.
...swapping weapons will instantly reload the weapon you just swapped out.
...use the Pipboy app on your phone or tablet as a second-screen. The map can help you navigate the wasteland more easily.
...save your overdue books. You wouldn't want rack up any charges at the library, would you? Besides, you might just be rewarded for returning them.
