Ive spent at least a mil to buy pots so i can tele around. hurts especially when she is such a puss that dies constantly lol

so, PC players, have y'all made the switch to controller yet? i have and it's 10x better than mouse and keyboard.
my one gripe for controllers may be an isolated incident to me only. i can't seem to identify items or use town portals. you have to hold square/X (PS/XB) and then move the cursor over to the item. but when i hold either of those buttons, i don't get the half circle/arrow button to use for the unidentified item. the game is full of bugs right now so it might eventually work for me, but other than that, controller is where it's at right now.

in addition to the below screenshot, the pause menu is completely different as well.

Honestly was trying to find a keyboard/mouse that works well with the xbox series X/PS5 because I was afraid the controls would suck with a controller.
If the controller isn't that bad then I might buy this game later today.

Controller play on Xbox is very intuitive and easy to get the hang of, and I’ve been playing this game on PC for 20 years

the guy in the video mentions that m/kb players have the old 8-direction movement while controller players have have full 360 degree movement. that's a big plus when trying to dodge/strafe attacks.
another big deal is the different attacks. controllers have each keybound option displayed on screen so it's basically a one-click scenario. m/kb have a 2-click option. a one click for switching and another for the actual attack. if you're coming from a m/kb, it's about an hours worth of getting used to and when you do get used to it, you may not switch back.
there's still some menu items that work better for m/kb because it's just more efficient, but actual gameplay, at least for me, is way better on controller.
eta: plus, controller has auto-aim. it snaps to an enemy and their name pops up on screen. just attack them until they're dead.

Controller has been nice.
Started with Amazon. I kind of liked the class but really wanted to try other classes before I make a huge first time dive. Moved on to a paladin.
Again I’m raw as frick. Got the Amazon to level 12 before I died. Didn’t know the lay out changes even if you save and quit. I was hoping a respawn would happen and that’s was great but it threw me for a loop.
Ohh took me hours to realize I had the teleport pad. Whole lot of running. Do those reset with the map after a save?
Learned to appreciate potions and how to manage all that so starting fresh with the pally has been a smoother transition. Still figuring out build etc and maybe wasting some skill points etc but I have been saving the free reset offered at camp.
Why is the game addicting? I spent most of my day yesterday playing. Doing the most mundane things like running/slashing/and organizing. How is fun? Why am I having fun? I haven’t figured it out yet.

those save with every character so they'll always be available for that character. however, every new character will need to unlock them for themselves (i think).

For me its about getting epic items. Thats pretty much it. Grinding for hours for shite to trade or drop is the driving force behind diablo 2.

I have a 12 button mous, so it's never been an issue for me. Are you sure he's right about the controller vs KB&M directions.
Watching the video with he developers they specifically mentioned the increased directions. I don't think he's correct t on that.

ran about 100 Travincal runs last night for gear. I kept saying l,"aight last one" for literally 2 hours.
I was gonna stop then found the Shako, then the next one I got trash so I had to do another until I got something good. Like I said this went on for some 2 hrs before I finally logged off.
I love this game so much.

you can reset an area by making a new game. Wanna run tombs for EXP? do all 5 tombs, exit game, create new, rinse repeat.
