Cost is same across all vendors, with the addition of commendations for Vanguard and Crucible.

Just did the Fist of Crota. That Sardon guy was a bitch.
ETA: I finally got my first raid in, got some raid gauntlets and was excited, then they become obsolete a mere six days later. I already went and purchased some 33 light gloves from the Vangaurd vendor.

I thought it was pretty cool, but I'll admit I'm not as tough as a critic as most. After playing just the first of the missions, I do already see that they're doing a nice job of leading the narrative up to the raid, though. I enjoyed it. It's a level 24 mission that you can change to 28 and even as a level 29, it wasn't a cakewalk. I enjoyed it being a little different and challenging. I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't played it yet, but you'll see what I meant about the Sardon guy being a bitch at the end. His attack is different from what we've seen before. Unfortunately I have to go do a little work so I can't continue to later. I should be back on around 6-6:30.
