Test the first. I played demon souls for a few hours and even though I liked it I knew that series wasn't for me. I don't have the time to get into it

I would play Dark Souls first simply because it is such an awesome game. You could pick it up used for pretty cheap and play from now until DS2 releases.

I have to admit, I bought DS for pretty cheap on amazon a month ago. I've been too scared to put it in from reading some of the threads on this board about it. You guys make it sound so good though.

I was the same way, but I never rage quit while playing. Yes, you do die quite a lot; but it is so satisfying when you beat an area you are having trouble with. I really enjoyed the game, due in large part to it's difficulty.

There were times where I had to put the game down for a while (frick you Blighttown), but eventually I'd pick it back up again. Beating a boss or area is so damn gratifying that it keeps you coming back to it.

Capra Demon. Enough said.

The first few tries I just felt helpless.

Very true. That one sticks out the most to me b/c it was pretty early in the game. And the fact that when you enter the fog gate you have 2 seconds tops to make a move before the bastard leaps across the room and kills you in one stroke with his Demon machetes.

Might a well. You said you don't care about graphics. If you have a ps3 still go for it. It will be totally worth it I'm sure

I'm debating 360 or PC. Prob look better on PC but I heard the port for dark souls was less than stellar
