It's supposed to look beautiful and run smoothly on consoles, so it will look incredible on PC. I'm jealous.

There is a popular mod that PC users use that effectively 'fixes' the game.

So fricking pumped. I've been playing DkS nonstop the last few weeks. Finished complete playthroughs with a dex uchigatana build, a faith zwe build, and working on a sorceress now. I've got this shite just about memorized now.

There is a loose plot line that you can follow through interacting with npcs, reading item descriptions, and observing the environment.
It is not a plot heavy game, but it can be interesting to try and figure things out. Learned a few interesting tidbits from some YouTube videos.
The main attraction for me is learning the environment and I really enjoy combat in this game. It is difficult but fair.
