If the previous game serves, shards aren't very scarce, but slabs are extremely rare.

I think merchants have more finite resources in this game. Ds1 merchants would sell shards all day provided you could pay.

Not sure if that's still the case.

I thought he had a limited number when I bought some...or at least the amount he had decreased.

Not sure if he ever gets more back in stock.

I cannot buy and more lifegems from the merchant in the cardinal tower so I assumed most resources were limited.

I already have one, but I just don't know if I want to use it on basically one of the first weapons I got in the game.

I just have the basic broadsword the knight class starts with. I'll need to farm some souls tonight so I can upgrade it. Thats a good idea to take the armor off, it doesn't protect me anyway.

They probably are, actually. If they are, oh well. I'm banking on the hopes that there will be more than enough opportunities to get titanite shards. For now I'm sticking with my broadsword, but I may switch it to the bastard sword if I like it's move set.

Actually I may try to find a longsword if it still has the thrust power attack that carried me through Dark Souls.

I am curious to know what this obvious tip is.

Unless you have a weapon that you adore, I'd wait on using the slabs. I managed to get a halberd drop but can't find any large titanite shards, is there a merchant that sells them?

Well, I got on for a sec to make my character. I run to old ladies' house and attack a monkey. Shitload of monkey's gang up on me and put me in my place.

Only about 30 minutes in but the movement in this one seems a lot more fluid than the previous games. Started as a warrior.

My tag is NOLA_saint504 if anyone wants to hit me up.

It's a good place to farm humanity and large titinite slabs.

Played for the first time in human form last night. I couldn't believe the amount of summons signs laying around everywhere. In Dark Souls 1 you would see a couple here and there but in one area from the bonfire to the fog gate I counted 19.

So glad this one has a bigger following.

smart man

Relatively speaking, the depths is a cakewalk. If you are in human form be careful there. I won't ruin any surprises. Just a head's up

I have to agree. I don't mind playing offline, but they need to get this resolved soon. IDK if DS1 had similar issues at launch so we'll see how quickly it gets fixed. I never once had an issue with DS1
