that's because he didn't read your other comment... yeah, she wont come along if you only got 1 free level from him. You have to get 5 free levels from you and the lady "shows up" after he's dead... basically hinting at her killing him:
in your play through he just finally died at the end of his time to be alive, and so the chick never shows up, because you never got the dark sigil high enough to draw her attention

That chick showed up for me and I never even recruited Yoel. I killed him on accident at the high wall.

I did read his comment. I just had no reference for what happens if you dont take the levels. You said clearly he dies either way so I just assumed she shows up.
And as Mystery said he never recruited at all and she's there.

I should have clarified. I didn't even use the 5 levels. He just died, and the chick never appeared that usually does after he dies. I kept forgetting to do it.

so I really hate myself for spending points into VIT, but I guess at the same time I'm able to get under the 30% threshold fairly easy, but sadly getting under the 30% threshold also makes you dodge a bit farther, and can sometimes put you in a bad spot after the roll

beat that cocksucker pontiff sullivan before i left for work today. he pissed me off. his clone always fricked me up. i couldnt figure out when to slip in and attack. eventually just rolled in there with great chaos fireball for when the clone came out and i fricked him up

I still get fricking stunlocked in armor and wolf ring +2. Pvp is just who can r1 spam to victory right now.

Yep. Hollowing turns your character into beef jerky.
It can be reversed though, very expensively. My friend has to pay something like 400k souls
