Took me a while to understand the combat system and use it effectively...that was demo 1, now demo 2 has some changes on when you get boost.
I say that because I got killed before I understood how it worked.

Yeah, I didn't realize you could boost skills/spells which completely changed the way I was attacking. Boosted spells are pretty OP.

I didn't realize I should boost to help with breaking down shield strengths.

I didn't have much time to play, but I did migrate my demo file over to the full version. Completed Cleric and Scholar intros and just met up with the Merchant, with the intent of making my way down to the Warrior. I need some tankiness, since my party is hella squishy right now.

It doesn’t seem to help for certain skills. For instance boosting Therion’s Fire skill increases the damage but doesn’t give you multiple hits like boosting a regular attack.
Combat feels relatively easy right now, so I hope that gets ramped up. There’s a ton of depth, but it feels wasted when I’m just blasting through trash.

Didn't have time to get into it this weekend, but should this week. Also, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is the perfect bathroom game

Dunkey's quick review is up HERE. I mean I wouldn't put much thought into it since he really hates RPGs but I kinda laughed. I do want to play this game though. Yall make it sound like it's good.

That's what I saw from that video. That's what I wanted. I might just finally make myself play chrono trigger though. I know, I know, it is SAD that I've never played it.

He doesn't like RPGs, much less classic ones so yeah, he's not going to enjoy it. The only thing that I would say are just completely wrong is the slowness of battles (the battle he showed wasn't a normal fight as he was lvl 22 and by himself. That's pretty much impossible) and the quality of story and writing. There's a lot of great and witty translations done by Square and while not every character is equal, it's just wrong to say the entire cast is completely generic and boring.

Yea I was taking it with a grain of salt. He has been very open about it. By the way, his video of video game reviewers is incredible and I highly recommend everyone in here to watch it.
